  2. 2. Knowledge maturity as decision support in stage-gate product development : a case from the aerospace industry

    Författare :Christian Johansson; Andreas Larsson; Marco Bertoni; Dave Randall; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Knowledge Maturity; Knowledge Management; Stage-Gate; Decision Support; Product Development; Product-Service Systems; Aerospace; Funktionella produkter;

    Sammanfattning : In today’s fast-paced industry where fight for market share is fierce and reaching the market ahead of competition imperative, product development is a target for lead-time reductions. In this context, in product development in stage-gate processes, decisions need to be made even though knowledge and information are scarce and flawed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Design for Producibility in Fabricated Aerospace Components - A framework for predicting and controlling geometrical variation and weld quality defects during multidisciplinary design

    Författare :Julia Madrid; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : In the aerospace industry, weight reduction has been one of the key factors in making aircraft more fuel efficient in order to satisfy environmental demands and increase competitiveness. One strategy adopted by aircraft component suppliers to reduce weight has been fabrication, in which small cast or forged parts are welded together into a final shape. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Industrial diversification and innovation : An international study of the aerospace industry

    Författare :Francois Texier; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Diversification; systems of innovation; institutions; core competence; innovation policy; management of innovation; aerospace industry; Dassault; Saab; Daewoo; Flygindustri; Frankrike; Sverige; Sydkorea; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the process of industrial diversification as a strategy to spur innovation within firms and foster structural change in industry. Diversification is the process by which firms depart from their core competencies to enter new markets and new technologies. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Towards automated conceptual design space exploration

    Författare :Jakob Müller; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering Design; Model Abstraction; Function Modelling; Knowledge Based Engineering; Model Based Design; Function-Means Modelling; Geometry Modelling; Design Space Exploration; Product Development; Systems Engineering; Design Automation; Aerospace;

    Sammanfattning : In mature and safety-concerned industries, such as the aerospace industry, product development is often incremental and design solutions are limited to improvements of an existing design. Radical changes to the known product architecture are avoided, for reasons of reliability, lack of technology or lack of design space exploration (DSE) methods. LÄS MER
