1. Urban Building Energy Modeling for Retrofit Scenarios : Development, Calibration, Validation and Implementation for Swedish Residential Buildings
Sammanfattning : The necessity for an accelerated transition of urban energy systems and, in particular, the building sector toward energy efficiency and carbon neutrality poses new challenges to planning and retrofitting existing buildings. To cope with these challenges, so-called urban building energy models (UBEMs) have been introduced for quantifying the energy demand in the building sector, identifying the hot spots of energy use and suggesting scenarios for retrofitting the buildings. 2. Regulating energy performance of residential buildings in cold climate : a study of indicators, criteria, and evaluation methods
Sammanfattning : Building energy performance has been important in Fennoscandia ever since the early vernacular houses, to combat the cold climate. Due to EU directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings (EPBD recast), building energy performance has become even more relevant in northern Europe the last decade. LÄS MER
3. Prediction of Energy Use of a Swedish Secondary School Building : Building Energy Simulation, Validation, Occupancy Behaviour and Potential Energy-Efficiency Measures
Sammanfattning : Residential and public buildings account for about 40% of the annual energy use in Europe. Many buildings are in urgent need of renovation, and reductions in energy demand in the built environment are of high importance in both Europe and Sweden. Building energy simulation (BES) tools are often used to predict building performance. LÄS MER
4. Energy Efficient Window Systems. Effects on Energy Use and Daylight in Buildings
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with energy-efficient windows in Swedish buildings. Parametric studies were performed in the dynamic energy simulation tool Derob-LTH in order to study the effects of window choices on energy use and indoor climate for both residential and office buildings. 5. Energy System Collaboration as a Vital Measure to Improve District Heating Performance
Sammanfattning : With joint commitments by twenty-seven countries under the Paris Agreement, the European Union envisioned a resource-efficient and competitive economy without net emission of greenhouse gases by 2050. Immediate and massive efforts across sectors of energy, industry, and buildings will be required, and district heating (DH), through its ability to integrate efficiency measures on the supply and demand side, can play a central role.
