  1. 1. Vertical Display Cabinets in Supermarkets - Energy Efficiency and the Influence of Air Flows

    Författare :Monica Axell; RISE; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; display cabinet; model; simulation; supermarket; CFD; air curtain; energy; performance; air distribution; display case; infiltration;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns investigations of the performance of vertical refrigerated display cabinets. Such cabinets are in widespread use and account for a considerable proportion of the energy used in shops. The open front is important for the shop-owner, who wants the chilled items in the cabinet to be well exposed and easily accessible. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Wave-actuated Preform Infiltration Routines in MMC Production

    Författare :Lars-Olov Pennander; Industriell Produktion; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material technology; Magnetostrictive; Vibration; Actuation; Wave; Infiltration; Preform; Metal; Composites; MMC; Materiallära; materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The implementation of highly magnetostrictive wave-actuator techniques in preform infiltration processes for metal-matrix composite production is described. Metal matrix materials require additional methods to handle the content, shape and position of the ceramic reinforcements, which are not required for metal alloy casting. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Probabilistic Modelling of Air Infiltration and Heat Loss in Low-Rise Buildings

    Författare :Krystyna Pietrzyk; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ventilation; heat loss; reliability; leakage; air infiltration; risk analysis; thermal transmittance; probabilistic model; wind; building physics;

    Sammanfattning : A probabilistic model (PROMO) of air exchange and heat loss in a low-rise building with a lightweight construction is proposed. The probability distributions of the air change rate and of the heat loss are the main outputs of the model. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Natural Ventilation and Air Infiltration in Large Single‑Zone Buildings : Measurements and Modelling with Reference to Historical Churches

    Författare :Abolfazl Hayati; Magnus Mattsson; Mats Sandberg; Jens Fransson; Guilherme Carrilho da Graça; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Natural ventilation; Airing; Air infiltration; Single-sided ventilation; Cross flow; Large single zones; Historical Churches; Model evaluation optimization; Field measurements; Wind tunnel; Indoor climate and Energy simulation; IDA-ICE; Tracer gas technique; Pressurization test.; Naturlig ventilation; Vädring; Luftinfiltration; Ensidig ventilation; Tvärdrag; Höga en-zonsbyggnader; Kulturhistoriska kyrkor; Modellutvärdering optimering; Fältmätningar; Vindtunnel; Inomhusklimat och energisimulering; IDA-ICE; Spårgas teknik; Trycksättningstest.; Hållbar stadsutveckling; Sustainable Urban Development;

    Sammanfattning : Natural ventilation is the dominating ventilation process in ancient buildings like churches, and also in most domestic buildings in Sweden and in the rest of the world. These buildings are naturally ventilated via air infiltration and airing. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Contaminant transport by air infiltration from crawl space to occupant area: Numerical simulations and field measurements in Swedish schools

    Författare :Fredrik Domhagen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; crawl space; contaminants; infiltration model; monte carlo method; airtightness; air permeability;

    Sammanfattning : Some Swedish school buildings built in the 1960’s and 1970’s have indoor air quality problems. Many of these buildings have a crawl space from which contaminants are suspected to originate. The poor indoor air quality cause discomfort among pupils and teachers and a solution to the problem is not always found. LÄS MER
