21. Muscle Responses in Dynamic Events. Volunteer experiments and numerical modelling for the advancement of human body models for vehicle safety assessment
Sammanfattning : Fatalities and injuries to car occupants in motor vehicle crashes continue to be aserious global socio-economic issue. Advanced safety systems that provide improvedoccupant protection and crash mitigation have the potential to reduce this burden. LÄS MER
22. Modelling of Factors Influencing Foot Ankle Responses and Injuries in Car Crashes
Sammanfattning : Foot and ankle injuries in frontal car collisions are believed to be caused mainly by occupant contact with the floor and toepan, occupant interaction with the pedals, and the lower leg being deformed between the floor and knee bolster. A better understanding of the causes of foot and ankle injuries is required to design cars for improved safety of the legs. LÄS MER
23. On the Feasibility of Reinforcement Learning in Single- and Multi-Agent Systems : The Cases of Indoor Climate and Prosumer Electricity Trading Communities
Sammanfattning : Over half of the world’s population live in urban areas, a trend which is expected to only grow as we move further into the future. With this increasing trend in urbanisation, challenges are presented in the form of the management of urban infrastructure systems. LÄS MER
24. Chest Injuries in Heavy Vehicle Frontal Collisions - Evaluation and Adaptation of the Hybrid III Dummy Instrumentation and Injury Reference Values by Means of Human Body Modeling
Sammanfattning : The safety of passenger cars has been significantly improved during the last decades. Similar improvements are not as apparent in heavy vehicles and one of the reasons is believed to be deficiencies in heavy vehicle crash testing and the tools used to evaluate the biomechanical responses. 25. Effects of Seat and Seat-Belt Design on Car Occupant Response in Frontal and Rear Impacts A Study Combining Mechanical and Mathematical Modelling
Sammanfattning : The objective of the present work is to determine the potential injury-reducing benefits to car occupants in accidents of seat and seat-belt design. The main problems addressed are the risk of injury to head, neck, and upper torso in frontal impacts, and the risk of minor neck-injuries - whiplash-injuries - in rear-end collisions. LÄS MER
