1. Studies of Micellar Electrokinetic Chromatography as an Analytical Technique in Pharmaceutical Analysis - an Industrial Perspective
Sammanfattning : Studies have been performed to evaluate the use of micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC), one mode of capillary electrophoresis (CE), as an analytical technique in industrial pharmaceutical analysis. The potential for using chemometrics for the optimisation of MEKC methods has also been studied as well as the possibilities of coupling MEKC with mass spectrometry (MS). LÄS MER
2. Separation of peptides by capillary electrophoresis : Application of chemometrics for evaluation of separation performance in micellar electrokinetic chromatography
Sammanfattning : The separation of enkephalin-related peptides and protein kinase A peptide substrates werestudied in micellar electrokinetic chromatography and compared with capillary zoneelectrophoresis. Special interest was focused on systems where the electroosmosis wasreversed in combination with neutral micellar agents. LÄS MER
3. Micellar electrokinetic chromatography with laser-induced fluorescence detection applied to the analysis of biological samples
Sammanfattning : The research presented in this thesis is focused on the potential for using the combination of micellar electrokinetic chromatography with laser-induced fluorescence detection for the determination of compounds in biological samples. The topics that have been addressed are the development of separation electrolytes, the need for sample preparation procedures, the derivatization of the compounds of interest and the detection of these by laser-induced fluorescence. 4. Sensitivity and selectivity studies in capillary electrophoresis
Sammanfattning : Capillary electrophoresis is characterised by high separation efficiency, applicability to a wide range of compounds, small sample and solvent consumption and simple instrumentation. To improve sensitivity using on-line absorbance detectors, which are hampered by the short optical path length, sample volumes in the microlitre range were concentrated to nanolitre volumes either off-line or on-line. 5. Aspects of Optimisation of Separation of Drugs by Chemometrics
Sammanfattning : Statistical experimental designs have been used for method development and optimisation of separation. Two reversed phase HPLC methods were optimised. LÄS MER
