Sammanfattning : This thesis is divided in two parts, one dealing with the depleted Si/Si structure, which is a substrate behaving as a semi-insulating material intended for radio-frequency applications and the other concerning high-k gate dielectrics (dielectrics with high dielectric constant) as the replacement for silicon dioxide as MOS gate dielectric.High frequency applications of CMOS integrated circuits, to lower cost, achieve higher performance and richer functionality, depends partly on the possibility to decrease the substrate coupling between different parts of the circuit. Sammanfattning : In conversation but frequently at odds with contemporary voices on education, British eighteenth-century writer Frances Brooke (1724-1789) argued for a thoroughly revised approach to moral education that relied on the emancipatory potential of inborn sensibility. This thesis considers Brooke’s original texts, which range from periodical writing, novels, tragedies, operas, and prefaces, in the light of education, sensibility, and form, with the intention of expanding our understanding of Brooke’s contribution to eighteenth-century proto-feminist debates. 9. Influence of acidification and liming on metals in lake sediments
Sammanfattning : Emission and precipitation of acidifying substances and metals has caused severe acidification and increased metal concentrations in lakes and streams in Sweden as well as many other countries during the last decades. To counteract the negative effects of acidification, liming has been used extensively in Sweden since the 1970’s, a treatment that has been called one of the largest man-maid manipulations of aquatic ecosystems ever.
