    Sammanfattning : The brothers Saleh al-Kuwaity صالح الكويتي (1908–1986) and Daud al-Kuwaity داود الكويتي (1910–1976) were active as performers, composers, teachers and music entrepreneurs in Baghdad between 1930 and 1950, and they continued to work after immigrating to Israel in 1951. This thesis explores the brothers’ work in Iraq, and how it was intertwined with processes of modernisation and westernisation, at a time when Iraq was forming itself as a nation-state. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This artistic research project is an explorative study in new forms of expression of Swedish folk singing in a scenic context, exploring expressive qualities in traditional Swedish folk song from the point of view of the folk singer as a creative performer. The fundamental research question is how, in a scenic context, can space be given to what is a characteristic quality of traditional folk song, namely creative interpretation in the moment, through variation and improvisation using the song as a concept rather than a fixed work.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this compilation thesis was to increase the understanding of secondary students’ poetic literacies both inside and outside school. The study employed an overarching theoretical framework derived from New Literacy Studies in which poetry reading is understood as a social practice (Barton, 2007; Barton & Hamilton, 2000; Street, 2001).
