   Sammanfattning : The dissertation examines how medieval poetic tradition was reactivated in the production of poetry from the period between the two world wars—the Polish interwar period, defined here as one of literary transition. The positioning in regard to certain literary conventions and the quest for a new normativity that is so prevalent in interwar poetry is also reflected in the era’s poetry on the theme of Mary. Rebétiko is a major popular-music style of modern Greece, consisting mostly of melancholic songs full of sorrow, disappointment, and misfortune, as well as passion and romance, but also of cheerful songs of revelry and a carefree attitude to life.    Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to examine the style of the Swedish entertainer Povel Ramel (1922-2007) as a composer and lyricist of popular songs, and to elucidate his relation to the older popular music culture, denoted "the age of melody".
