  1. 1. Using Light to Regulate the Activity of RET Kinase: Design, synthesis and evaluation of photoswitchable DFG-out RET kinase inhibitors

    Författare :Yongjin Xu; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; RET kinase; kinase inhibitor; DFG-out; photoparmacology; azoheteroarene; Buchwald-Hartwig coupling; quinoline; 7-azaindole;

    Sammanfattning : Protein kinases are essential for signal transduction and regulate most cellular processes, such as metabolism, membrane transport, motility, and cell cycle. Although they play a critical role in cells and have a strong association with diseases, details of their physiologic and pathologic mechanisms remain at least partially unclear, especially the spatiotemporal dynamics of the signalling. 2. 2. Synthesis of Novel Homoserine Analogues - Towards t he Development of Substrate-based Peptide Inhibitors of cAMP-dependent Protein Kinase

    Författare :Anna-Carin Carlsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; protein kinases; protein kinase inhibitors; substrate-based kinase inhibitors; cAMP-dependent protein kinase; kemptide; homoserine; asymmetric -amino acid synthesis; glycine -anion equivalents; Schöllkopf’s bislactim ether; epoxidation; nucleophilic epoxide ring opening; microwave-assisted synthesis;

    Sammanfattning : Protein kinases are enzymes that via phosphorylation of proteins/peptides regulate most aspects of cell functions and physiology. The enzymes transfer a -phosphoryl group from ATP to hydroxyl groups of Ser, Thr and Tyr residues in their substrates. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Aspects on long-term treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors in Chronic myeloid leukemia

    Författare :Sofia Jönsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Chronic myeloid leukemia; tyrosine kinase inhibitor; imatinib; molecular response; adherence; mesechymal stem cells; osteoblast differentiation; dasatinib;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is caused by the tyrosine kinase activity of the oncoprotein BCR-ABL. The introduction of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) targeting BCR-ABL has profoundly changed the prognosis of CML. Currently, there are three TKIs approved for treatment of CML, imatinib, nilotinib and dasatinib. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Pharmaceutical Protection of Beta-Cells in Diabetes : Using Tyrosine Kinase Inhibition and NOX4 Inhibitors

    Författare :Andris Elksnis; Per-Ola Carlsson; Nils Welsh; Sergiu-Bogdan Catrina; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diabetes mellitus; Tyrosine kinase inhibitors; Imatinib; AMPK; Oxidative stress; NADPH-oxidase; NOX; NOX4; Medical Cell Biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Diabetes mellitus is a complex and heterogenous disease, with loss of beta-cell function and mass being a characteristic of not only type 1 diabetes (T1D), but also type 2 diabetes (T2D). In T1D, inappropriate inflammatory signaling is thought to participate in the autoimmune suppression and destruction of beta-cells. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The role of phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate 5-kinase type І alpha (PIP5K1α) and utility of its inhibitor for targeting metastatic cancer

    Författare :Martuza Sarwar; Malmö Experimentell cancerforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate Cancer; Breast cancer; Cancer therapy; PIP5K1A; PI3K AKT signal pathway; Kinase inhibitors;

    Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common cause of cancer-related death in men after lung cancer. Annually, more than 9000 new cases are diagnosed in Sweden and 2500 of them die each year. Metastatic prostate cancer can be treated with castration. LÄS MER
