  1. 6. Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Applications of Spectroscopy in the Photon Migration Regime

    Författare :Tomas Svensson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Porosimetry; Biomedical optics; Pharmaceutical analysis; Monte Carlo; Scattering media; Photon migration; Laser spectroscopy; High-resolution spectroscopy; Time-resolved spectroscopy; Time-of-flight;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is devoted to two different matters: One part is the development of a novel optical technique for characterisation of solid pharmaceutical materials. The other part being the continued development of photon time-of-flight spectroscopy, as well as exploration of new application areas of this method. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Laser Diagnostics in Reacting Flows

    Författare :Panagiota Stamatoglou; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; planar laser-induced fluorescence PLIF ; gliding arc GA discharge; Plasma Discharges; Turbulence; Combustion Engines; Spectroscopy; high-speed camera HSC ; Burst System; OH-LIF; optical parametric oscillator OPO ; Fysicumarkivet A:2023:Stamatoglou;

    Sammanfattning : Burst-mode laser systems have widely been employed in diagnostics for both reactive and non-reactive flows. Unlike the continuous pulse lasers, burst-mode lasers generate pulses in bursts lasting up to 100 ms, capable to deliver high energies up to Joules per pulse. LÄS MER

  3. 8. High-Order Harmonics- Characterisation, Optimisation and Applications

    Författare :Claire Lyngå; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; high-harmonic generation; VUV spectroscopy; high-power lasers; Atomic and molecular physics; radiative lifetimes; XUV spectroscopy; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:1999:Lyngå;

    Sammanfattning : Recent advances in laser technology, with the development of extremely short-pulse, high-intensity lasers, have opened doors to new areas in atomic physics. By focusing light from an intense, short-pulse laser into a gas jet, the emission of high-order harmonics of the laser frequency has been studied. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Development and Application of Non-linear Mid-infrared Laser Spectroscopy for Combustion Diagnostics

    Författare :Zhiwei Sun; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Degenerate four-wave mixing; Polarization spectroscopy; Mid-infrared; Non-linear laser spectroscopy; Laser diagnostics; Combustion; Flame; HITRAN; Concentration; Temperature; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Sun;

    Sammanfattning : The work reported in this thesis involved the development and application of two novel infrared non-linear laser techniques, namely mid-infrared polarization spectroscopy (IRPS) and mid-infrared degenerate four-wave mixing (IR-DFWM) to combustion diagnostics. These two techniques meet the needs of species concentration detection in combustion environments, especially for those species lacking accessible electronic (one-photon) transitions in the ultraviolet (UV) or visible spectral region. 5. 10. Precision molecular spectroscopy in the near- and mid-infrared using frequency comb-based Fourier transform spectrometers

    Författare :Adrian Hjältén; Aleksandra Foltynowicz; Ove Axner; Adam Fleisher; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; optical frequency comb; molecular spectroscopy; Fourier transform spectrometer; high resolution; mid-infrared; line list; double-resonance spectroscopy; difference frequency generation; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Absorption spectroscopy is a powerful scientific tool for non-invasive and remote sensing applications ranging from atmospheric monitoring to astrophysics. In spectroscopic detection schemes it is necessary to have spectral models for any molecular species to be detected or quantified. LÄS MER
