21. Studies of ionised atoms with collision-based spectroscopy and laser spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Atomic structure and collision properties of ionised atoms have been studied usingcollision-based spectroscopy and fast ion beam-laser spectroscopy.Collision induced photon emission spectra of Xe VI, Xe VII and Xe VIII andthe potassium like metal ions Mn VII, Fe VIII and Co IX have been recorded with a beam of multiply charged ions from an ECR (electron cyclotron resonance) ion source passing through an atomic target. 22. Combustion Engine Characterization and Development by Means of Laser Diagnostics
Sammanfattning : Planar laser induced fluorescence (LIF) has been utilized for two-dimensional imaging in combustion environments. By using tracer LIF the fuel distribution prior to ignition has been monitored in a GDI-engine. LÄS MER
23. Frequency comb Brillouin microscopy
Sammanfattning : Brillouin light scattering (BLS), an almost a century-old technique, has evolved into a powerful and versatile method to study acoustic and magnetic phenomena down to the nanometer size scale. Presently, BLS can be applied in fields as diverse as acoustics, spintronics, geosciences, and biophysics. LÄS MER
24. Generation and metrology of ultrashort pulses and their application in attosecond science
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the dynamical processes in atoms and small molecules initiated by the absorption of ultrashort, coherent light pulses. The studied phenomena takeplace on the femtosecond (1 fs = 10−15 s) and attosecond (1 as = 10−18 s) timescales and critically depend on the properties of the light fields that drive them. LÄS MER
25. On a novel technique for preparation and analysis of the implant surface and its interface to bone
Sammanfattning : The ultrastructural and biomechanical properties of the bone-implant interface are important factors for implant performance. For further understanding of the osseointegration process novel tools enabling analysis of the intact interface in high resolution is needed, preferably combined with histology and biomechanical tests.
