  1. 6. Graphene-based nanocomposites for electronics and photocatalysis

    Författare :Ebrahim Chalangar; Håkan Pettersson; Magnus Willander; Omer Nour; Maria Messing; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Graphene; Zinc oxide; Silver iodine; Plasmonics; Nanocomposites; Conjugated electronics; Photocatalysis; Photodegradation;

    Sammanfattning : The development of future electronics depends on the availability of suitable functional materials. Printed electronics, for example, relies on access to highly conductive, inexpensive and printable materials, while strong light absorption and low carrier recombination rates are demanded in photocatalysis industry. 2. 7. Graphite oxides for preparation of graphene related materials : structure, chemical modification and hydrogen storage properties

    Författare :Alexey Klechikov; Alexandr Talyzin; Tamás Szabó; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Graphite oxide; graphene oxide; hydrogen storage; nanomaterials; adsorption; surface area; pore volume; Materials Science; materialvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon materials have been studied for hydrogen storage for decades, but they showed too low capacity at ambient temperature compared to target values for practical applications. This thesis includes two parts. First one is fundamental study of graphite oxides (GO) structure and properties. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Controlling Electronic and Geometrical Structure of Honeycomb-Lattice Materials Supported on Metal Substrates : Graphene and Hexagonal Boron Nitride

    Författare :Nikolay Vinogradov; Nils Mårtensson; Karsten Horn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; graphene; h-BN; electronic structure; adsorption; doping; nano-templates; PES; NEXAFS; LEEM; STM; Physics with spec. in Atomic; Molecular and Condensed Matter Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot atom- molekyl- och kondenserande materiens fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is focused on various methods of controlling electronic and geometrical structure of two-dimensional overlayers adsorbed on metal surfaces exemplified by graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) grown on transition metal (TM) substrates. Combining synchrotron-radiation-based spectroscopic and various microscopic techniques with in situ sample preparation, we are able to trace the evolution of overlayer electronic and geometrical properties in overlayer/substrate systems, as well as changes of interfacial interaction in the latter. 4. 9. Synthesis, Characterization, and Evaluation of Ag-based Electrical Contact Materials

    Författare :Fang Mao; Ulf Jansson; Mikael Olsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electrical contact; bulk; coating; Ag-based alloys; Ag-based delafossite; AgI; graphene; graphene oxide; combinatorial material science; dc magnetron sputtering; friction; wear; hardness; contact resistance;

    Sammanfattning : Ag is a widely used electrical contact material due to its excellent electrical properties. The problems with Ag are that it is soft and has poor tribological properties (high friction and wear in Ag/Ag sliding contacts). LÄS MER

  5. 10. Two-dimensional Nanocomposites Based on Cellulose Nanofibrils and Graphene Oxide

    Författare :Hanieh Mianehrow; Lars Berglund; Aji Mathew; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Cellulose nanofibrils; graphene oxide; orientation; reinforcement; oxygen barrier; bio-nanocomposite; moisture; molecular adhesion; interfacial shear strength.; Nanocellulosa; grafenoxid; orientering; förstärkning; syrebarriär; bionanokomposit; fukt; molekylär adhesion; skjuvhållfasthet hos gränsytan.; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Two-dimensional (2D) nanocomposites based on cellulose nanofibrils (CNF) and 2D nanomaterials are of interest as sustainable materials combining functional and structural properties. To achieve reinforcement effects from 2D nanomaterials, their orientation and dispersion state in the CNF matrix are important. LÄS MER
