  1. 1. Human-Robot Interaction for Semi-Autonomous Assistive Robots : Empirical Studies and an Interaction Concept for Supporting Elderly People at Home

    Författare :Marcus Mast; Arne Jönsson; Michael Burmester; Jonas Lundberg; Tony Belpaeme; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Semi-autonomous assistive robots; human-robot interaction; user interface design; teleoperation; telemanipulation; elderly people; global environment maps; stereoscopy; Semi-autonoma robotar; människa-robotinteraktion; gränssnittsdesign; distansstyrning; distansmanipulation; äldre; globala omgivningskartor; stereoskopisk;

    Sammanfattning : The research addresses current shortcomings of autonomous service robots operating in domestic environments by considering the concept of a semi-autonomous robot that would be supported by human remote operators whenever the robot cannot handle a task autonomously. The main research objective was to investigate how to design the human-robot interaction for a robotic system to assist elderly people with physical tasks at home according to this conceptual idea. 2. 2. Life paths through space and time: Adding the micro-level geographic context to longitudinal historical demographic research

    Författare :Finn Hedefalk; Centrum för ekonomisk demografi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Geographic micro-level factors; longitudinal historical data; geocoding; historical demography; 19th century; individual level; spatio-temporal analysis; detailed geographic data; geographic context.; property units; rural historical soceties; Geographic micro-level factors; longitudinal historical data; geocoding; historical demography; 19th century; individual level; spatio-temporal analysis; detailed geographic data; property units; geographic context;

    Sammanfattning : Historical demographic research is central to understanding past human behaviours and traits, such as fertility, mortality and migration. An essential part of historical demography is conducting longitudinal analyses at the micro-level, which involves the detailed follow-up of individuals over long time periods throughout their lives. 3. 3. Open Quantum Systems : Effects in Interferometry, Quantum Computation, and Adiabatic Evolution

    Författare :Johan Åberg; Erik Sjöqvist; Sten Lunell; Vlatko Vedral; Uppsala universitet; []

  4. 4. Communication of brand personality by some top business schools online

    Författare :Robert Opoku; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Industrial Marketing; Industriell marknadsföring;

    Sammanfattning : Organizations perceive their brands to possess a personality that consumers either use as an avenue for self-expression or to experience the anticipated emotional benefits that differentiate one brand from another. These perceived brand personalities emerge through the different ways organizations present themselves. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Escaping 'death by GPS' : foundations for adaptive navigation assistance

    Författare :Fateme Teimouri; Kai-Florian Richter; Henrik Björklund; Sabine Timpf; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; wayfinding; navigation systems; navigation complexity; prominent locations; route generalization; spatial cognition; mental models; route learning; direction giving; Human-centered study.;

    Sammanfattning : Navigating through physical environments has evolved over time from using stars and maps to support the wayfinding, to employing Global Positioning Systems and navigation services. Turn-by-turn guidance of navigation services is an effective way to support wayfinding, but it may not align with the way humans naturally navigate. LÄS MER
