  1. 11. Two Problems in non-linear PDE’s with Phase Transitions

    Författare :Karl Jonsson; Henrik Shahgholian; Tomas Sjödin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Conductivity jump; Free boundary problem; Quasilinear elliptic equation; Mathematical techniques; Nonlinear analysis; Free boundary; Free-boundary problems; Quasi-linear elliptic; Quasilinear elliptic equations; Hele-Shaw flow; non-local; implicit function theorem; Heterogeneous Multi Scale; HMM; Finite Element; FEM; FE; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is in the field of non-linear partial differential equations (PDE), focusing on problems which show some type of phase-transition. A single phase Hele-Shaw flow models a Newtoninan fluid which is being injected in the space between two narrowly separated parallel planes. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Harmonisation of 3D geodata : a prerequisite for a digital information flow for applications in the planning and building sector

    Författare :Helen Eriksson; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Data harmonisation; schema extension; 3D buildings; 3D city models; GeoBIM; lifecycle and version management; emporal information; user requirements; Guidelines; Hydrography;

    Sammanfattning : Data harmonisation is a prerequisite for smart cities, for a more efficient information flow in the planning and building process and for many applications in the urban environment. Ideally, data harmonisation will result in a digital information flow that include information from the whole lifecycle of a feature, for example for buildings, roads and tunnels. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Approximation of topology optimization problems using sizing optimization problems

    Författare :Anton Evgrafov; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; structural optimization; bilevel programming; approximation; topology optimization; control in coefficients; optimal design; fictitious domain; control in coefficients;

    Sammanfattning : The present work is devoted to approximation techniques for singular extremal problems arising from optimal design problems in structural and fluid mechanics. The thesis consists of an introductory part and four independent papers, which however are united by the common idea of approximation and the related application areas. LÄS MER

  4. 14. CFD modelling of axial fans for thermal management applications

    Författare :Randi Franzke; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MRF; CFD; RBM; Axial Fan; Thermal Management;

    Sammanfattning : Reducing CO2 emissions is one of the key challenges in todays automotive industry. Different strategies to achieve this goal are, for example, to electrify the powertrain and to reduce the aerodynamic drag by reducing the amount of cooling air through the underhood. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Sexual Behaviour and Sexually Transmitted Infections Among Urban Ugandan Youth – Perceptions, Attitudes and Management

    Författare :Eva-Britta Råssjö; Elisabeth Darj; Gunilla Lindmark; Gunta Lazdane; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; International health; Adolescents; Uganda; Syndromic approach; STI; VCT for HIV; Safe sex behaviour; Internationell hälsa; Public health science; Folkhälsovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to expand the knowledge about sexual and reproductive health among urban Ugandan youths, living in a slum, and to evaluate the national flow-chart for management of the abnormal vaginal discharge (AVD) syndrome in adolescent girls. Data collection included individual interviews, focus-group discussions and clinical investigations with tests for chlamydia trachomatis (CT), neisseria gonorrhoea (NG), trichomonas vaginalis (TV), syphilis, and HIV infection.
