  1. 11. Bonding Ability Distribution of Fibers in Mechanical Pulp Furnishes

    Författare :Sofia Reyier; Per Engstrand; Hans Höglund; Olof Ferritsius; Hans Ersson; Rita Ferritsius; Philip Reme; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fiber; mechanical pulp; bonding ability; fiber characterization; Bonding Indicator; BIN; acoustic emission; hydrocyclone; Fiberlab; collapse resistance; fibrillation; Fiber; mekanisk massa; bindningsförmåga; fiber karakterisering; Bindnings Indikator; BIN; akustisk emission; hydrocyklon; Fiberlab; kollaps resistans; fibrillering; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a method of measuring the distribution of fiber bonding ability in mechanical pulp furnishes. The method is intended for industrial use, where today only average values are used to describe fiber bonding ability, despite the differences in morphology of the fibers entering the mill. LÄS MER

  2. 12. The fibrogram : investigations on the influence of fibre length and its distribution, on the working progress in Paul's draw field, and on the properties of yarn and fabrics

  3. 13. Modelling of the pressure distributions in twin-wire blade formers

    Författare :Claes Holmqvist; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :fluid mechanics; blade forming; pressure distribution; suction; interaction; permeable fabric; modules;

    Sammanfattning : During papermaking, the internal structure of the fibrenetwork constituting the paper is to a dominating extentdetermined in the forming zone of the paper machine. Thisthesis is aimed at studying the pressure distribution in bladeforming sections, which is commonly considered to be a keyquantity of the process. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Network Modelling for Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Cellulose Fibre Fluff

    Författare :Susanne Heyden; Byggnadsmekanik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; fracture; fibres; computer simulation; offshore technology; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : A network mechanics model for cellulose fibre fluff is proposed. 2D and 3D versions of the model have been implemented and the influence of various micro-level parameters on the global mechanical performance has been determined by means of computer simulations. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Durability and Long-term Performance of Adhesively Bonded FRP/steel Joints

    Författare :Mohsen Heshmati; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; FRP steel joints; durability; fibre reinforced polymer; cohesive zone modelling; long-term performance; adhesively bonded joints; moisture diffusion;

    Sammanfattning : Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites offer excellent properties, such as high specific strength and stiffness, corrosion resistance and light weight. Over the past four decades, FRPs have been increasingly used for strengthening and repair of bridge structures, and more recently, in the manufacture of whole/hybrid FRP bridges. LÄS MER
