6. Exploiting enzyme promiscuity for rational design
Sammanfattning : Enzymes are today well recognized in various industrial applications, being an important component in detergents, and catalysts in the production of agrochemicals, foods, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals. Their large use is mainly due to their high selectivity and environmental advantage, compared to traditional catalysts. LÄS MER
7. Engineering Candida antarctica Lipase A for Enantioselective Transformations in Organic Synthesis : Design, Immobilization and Organic Solvent Screening of Smart Enzyme Libraries
Sammanfattning : The use of enzymes as catalysts in organic synthesis constitutes an attractive alternative to conventional chemical catalysis. Enzymes are non-toxic and biodegradable and they can operate under mild reaction conditions. LÄS MER
8. Amine Transaminases in Biocatalytic Amine Synthesis
Sammanfattning : The use of enzymes, nature´s own catalysts, both isolated or as whole cells to perform chemical transformations is called biocatalysis. As a complement to classical chemical catalysis, biocatalysis can be an environmentally friendly and more economical option in the production and synthesis of chemicals. LÄS MER
9. Molecular Simulation of Enzyme Catalysis and Inhibition
Sammanfattning : The reaction mechanisms for the hemoglobin degrading enzymes in the Plasmodium falciparum malaria parasite, plasmepsin II (Plm II) and histo-aspartic protease (HAP), have been analyzed by molecular simulations. The reaction free energy profiles, calculated by the empirical valence bond (EVB) method in combination with molecular dynamics (MD) and free energy perturbation (FEP) simulations are in good agreement with experimental data. 10. Enzyme assays for lignin–carbohydrate bond hydrolysis
Sammanfattning : To identify, produce, and use enzymes, analytical methods known as enzyme assays are employed. Enzyme assays are based on analysing the changes brought about on a substrate by an enzyme under defined conditions. Assays are often based on simplified reactions acting as substitutes for the reaction of interest. LÄS MER
