  1. 6. Microgel Interactions with Peptides and Proteins : Consequence of Peptide and Microgel Properties

    Författare :Ronja Widenbring; Martin Malmsten; Per Hansson; Catherine Picart; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Binding; Degradation; Enzyme; Gel; Hydrogel; Microgel; Peptide; Protein; Release; Pharmaceutical Physical Chemistry; Farmaceutisk fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Microgels are lightly cross-linked hydrogel particles in the sub-micrometer to micrometer size range with a capacity to drastically change their volume in response to changes in the external environment. Microgels have an ability to bind and store substances such as biomacromolecular drugs, notably proteins and peptides, and release them upon stimuli, making them potential candidates as drug delivery vehicles and functional biomaterials. 2. 7. Interfacial behaviour of surfactants and enzymes: studies at model surfaces

    Författare :Olaspers Jonny Eriksson; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface and boundary layery chemistry; gränsskikt; enzymatic degradation; cellulase; model film; cellulose; QCM; ellipsometry; surfactant; three-phase contact line; adsorption; wetting; Ytkemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents results from experimental studies of the interfacial behaviour of surfactants and enzymes at model surfaces. The main technique used throughout the work was ellipsometry. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Lipase catalysed synthesis of speciality chemicals: technical, economical & environmental aspects

    Författare :Pär Tufvesson; Bioteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Green Chemistry; surfactant; biocatalysis; enzymatic; epoxide;

    Sammanfattning : Most people agree that the total ecological impact of society has become more than this planet can endure. This is because we consume our resources (such as oil and water) faster than they can regenerate and because we release more substances into the environment than can be assimilated (e.g. CO2). 4. 9. Investigation of Modified Cellulose and Starch via Hydrolysis and Mass Spectrometry

    Författare :Arieh Cohen; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ESI-MS; Polysaccharides; Hydrolysis; Cellulases; Starch Hydrolases; Enzymatic Degradation; Enzymes; Substituent Distribution; Modified Cellulose; Mass Spectrometry; Modified Starch; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; HPAEC-PAD;

    Sammanfattning : Starches and celluloses can be chemically modified in order to affect their physiochemical properties. Modification of these carbohydrate polymers entails derivatising their free hydroxyl groups with functional groups. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Enzymatic Synthesis of Alkyl Glycosides. New Applications for Glycoside Hydrolases

    Författare :David Svensson; Bioteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CGTase; cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase; alkyl glycoside; enzyme stabliity; enzymatic synthesis; enzyme immobilisation; surfactant; glycosylation;

    Sammanfattning : The environmental problems caused by human interventions, such as the consumption of non-renewable resources and the emission of greenhouse gases are well-recognised. Calls have been made for immediate measures to develop more sustainable society worldwide. LÄS MER
