  1. 11. Identification of single motor units in ultrafast ultrasound image sequences of voluntary skeletal muscle contractions

    Författare :Robin Rohlén; Christer Grönlund; Jun Yu; Dario Farina; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ultrafast ultrasound; motor units; decomposition; skeletal muscle; voluntary contractions; electromyography; twitch; imaging;

    Sammanfattning : The central nervous system controls human force production by successive recruitment of motor units in the skeletal muscles and changing their neural firing rate. The motor unit comprises a motoneuron, its innervated muscle fibers, and its axons. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Volunteer Muscle Activity in Dynamic Events. Input Data for Human Body Models

    Författare :Jóna Marin Olafsdottir; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; emergency braking; ative human body model; multidirectional perturbations; EMG; occupant kinematics; seatbelt pre-tension; reflex; validation data;

    Sammanfattning : Human body models (HBMs) are virtual human surrogates used to predict kinematic and injury responses during motor vehicle crashes. In recent years, active musculature has been incorporated into HBMs for enhanced biofidelity in simulated emergency scenarios, in particular low-severity crashes and pre-crash situations, where occupant responses are influenced by muscle tension. 3. 13. Increasing the biological knowledge of Baltic Sea cod: growth, movements and reproductive potential from historical and contemporary data

    Författare :Monica Mion; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge about life-history traits of commercially exploited fish stocks and their possible changes over time is essential for implementing a sustainable management. Biological parameters such as growth rate, fecundity and movement patterns are in fact, underlying determinants for stock responses to environmental forcing and fishing exploitation. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Repetitive and monotonous work among women : Psychophysiological and subjective stress reactions, muscle activity and neck and shoulder pain

    Författare :Dag Rissén; Bo Melin; Ulf Lundberg; Anders Kjellberg; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Repetitive and monotonous work; women; psychophysiological stress reactions; subjective stress reactions; muscle activity; trapezius muscle; neck and shoulder pain; job rotation; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Repetitive and monotonous work is frequently associated with neck and shoulder pain and negative psychosocial factors inducing stress reactions. The present thesis concerns the relations between psychophysiological and subjective stress reactions, muscle activity measured by surface electromyography (SEMG) in the trapezius muscle, and neck and shoulder pain in women performing repetitive and monotonous work. 5. 15. Preaspiration in the Nordic languages : synchronic and diachronic aspects

    Författare :Pétur Helgason; John J. Ohala; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Linguistics; Lingvistik;

    Sammanfattning : Preaspiration—the production of glottal friction at the juncture of a vowel and a consonant—appears to be typologically rare but is an areal linguistic feature of Northwestern Europe. This study contains a survey of the known geographical spread of preaspirated stops, their phonological distribution and phonetic expressions in some Nordic dialects. LÄS MER
