16. Evaluation of isovolumic myocardial motions in human subjects using tissue velocity echocardiography
Sammanfattning : Colour-coded tissue velocity imaging (TVE) with Echocardiography is an established method for evaluation of the global cardiac function and of the regional myocardial movements. The TVE-technique allows measurements of velocity and deformation variables from any discrete point in the myocardial wall during the cardiac cycle with high temporal and longitudinal spatial resolution. 17. Use and Misuse of Oxytocin During Delivery
Sammanfattning : Obstetric malpractice claims, concerning delivery during a period of eight years, were analysed for motives behind disciplinary actions, and for the frequency of inappropriate oxytocin use.Failure to respond to signs of foetal distress, injudicious use of oxytocin and a failure to effect a timely delivery were the recurrent problems that accounted for the majority of disciplinary actions. 18. Towards Personalized Models of the Cardiovascular System Using 4D Flow MRI
Sammanfattning : Current diagnostic tools for assessing cardiovascular disease mostly focus on measuring a given biomarker at a specific spatial location where an abnormality is suspected. However, as a result of the dynamic and complex nature of the cardiovascular system, the analysis of isolated biomarkers is generally not sufficient to characterize the pathological mechanisms behind a disease. 19. Growth, Accumulation, Crisis : With New Macroeconomic Data for Sweden 1800-2000
Sammanfattning : This dissertation has two main objectives. The first one is to construct historical macroeconomic series for Sweden using a consistent method throughout the relevant periods, and which rely on modern methods of national accounting. LÄS MER
20. New approaches to monitoring of cardiac function
Sammanfattning : Left ventricular pumping performance may be described by intraventricular pressure and volume variables, usually presented as a pressure-volume plot. However, on-line monitoring of left ventricular pressure and volume with high temporal resolution requires the use of an invasive catheter technique such as, for example, the conductance catheter method.
