  1. 6. Experimental and quantum-chemical studies of the surface interactions between organic molecules and nanocrystals of (a) RE2O3 (RE = Y or Gd); and (b) TiOb2

    Författare :Henrik Pedersen; Per-Olov Käll; Lars-Johan Norrby; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing interest for using nanocrystals in bio-medical and optical applications has highlighted the need of molecular functionalisation of nanocrystals. Knowledge of how to attach molecules to the nanocrystal surface is a key factor. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Use of Switchable Carbamate Surfactants for Design of Reversible Colouring of Cotton

    Författare :Anna-Karin Hellström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cotton; pigment; textile colouring; de-colouring; switchable surfactant; carbamate;

    Sammanfattning : Circularity of materials is a global need. However, recycling of cotton often requires many steps involving chemical or mechanical treatments. According to the waste hierarchy, reuse is a more environmentally benign approach than recycling, giving extended lifecycles with only limited processing of materials. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis work was to gain understanding of the interactions between talc mineral and surfaces, liquids and chemicals relevant for industrial applications, such as pulp and paper. Talc is used in the pulp and paper industry as a filler pigment, in control of pitch (lipophilic extractives) deposits and as a coating pigment. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Colloidal synthesis of metal nanoparticles
