  1. 16. Soil and stream water chemistry in a boreal catchment - interactions, influences of dissolved organic matter and effects of wood ash application

    Författare :Sara H Norström; Ulla Lundström; Dan Bylund; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Boreal forest; catchment studies; dissolved organic carbon; soil solution; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Two small bordering catchments in Bispgården, Central Sweden, wereinvestigated in regard to soil solution and stream water chemistry during the frostfree seasons of 2003-2007. Both catchments were drained by first order streams,Fanbergsbäcken and Gråbergsbäcken, and in Fanbergsbäckens catchment anextensive investigation of the soil and soil solution chemistry was conducted bylysimeter and centrifugation sampling. 2. 17. From precipitation to stream : isotopic insights into hydrological flow paths and transit times in boreal catchments

    Författare :Andres Peralta Tapia; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the journey water makes from precipitation entering a catchment, traveling through soils, and the time it takes before it exits as stream water are questions of great relevance for both scientists and environmental managers. Natural stable isotopes such as δ¹⁸O and δ²H have been extensively used over the last decades to trace water through diverse catchments across the world. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Origin of Iron Isotope Signatures in Boreal Estuaries

    Författare :Sarah Conrad; Magnus Mörth; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : The geochemistry of iron (Fe) during freshwater transport and estuarine mixing has been investigated. Espescially the changes in the Fe-isotope signature have been studied. The fate of Fe-isotopes during estuarine mixing has been poorly studied. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Carbon Dioxide Supersaturation in Lakes – Causes, Consequences and Sensitivity to Climate Change

    Författare :Sebastian Sobek; Lars J. Tranvik; Yves Prairie; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; carbon dioxide; boreal lakes; respiration; dissolved organic carbon; climate change; Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : The global carbon cycle is intimately linked with the earth’s climate system. Knowledge about carbon cycling in the biosphere is therefore crucial for predictions of climate change. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Wildfire influences on stream water geochemistry in a boreal catchment

    Författare :Fredrik Nordblad; Hjalmar Laudon; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Sammanfattning : Forest wildfires are important for the structure and functioning of boreal ecosystems including biogeochemical processes. During the last decades, natural forest fires have been successfully suppressed in Fennoscandia. Therefore, our knowledge on the biogeochemical effects of forest fires is limited. LÄS MER
