  1. 1. Seagrass Respiration An assessment of oxygen consumption patterns of temperate marine macrophytes

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences, Stockholm University

    Författare :Lina M. Rasmusson; Stockholms universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mitochondrial respiration; Photorespiration; Seagrass productivity; Zostera marina; Marine carbon budgets; Ruppia maritima; Ulva intestinalis; växtfysiologi; Plant Physiology;

    Sammanfattning : In coastal seas, the abundance of marine macrophytes has profound influence on the flows of oxygen and inorganic carbon through the water. Vast amounts of carbon dioxide are taken up by photosynthesis and part of this is respired back into the water column. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Importance of bacterial maintenance respiration and baseline respiration for development of coastal hypoxia

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå Universitet

    Författare :Kevin Vikström; Umeå universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; Respiration; Estuarine; Allochthonous; Maintenance; primary production; bacterial production;

    Sammanfattning : Reduced oxygen concentrations and increasing hypoxic zones havebecome more common in the sea due to climate change andeutrophication. The main cause of oxygen loss in oxygenatedenvironments is respiration. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Nocturnal enuresis and rapid maxillary expansion – long-term effect, prognostic variables, respiration during sleep and quality of life

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Ingrid Jönson Ring; Uppsala universitet.; [2019]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rapid maxillary expansion; nocturnal enuresis; sleep disordered breathing; respiration; polygraphic sleep recording; quality of life.; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Background:The orthodontic technique rapid maxillary expansion (RME) has been reported to have a potentially curative effect on nocturnal enuresis (NE). The mechanism behind this is unknown but could possibly be due to placebo and/or effects on respiration during sleep. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Explaining temporal variations in soil respiration rates and delta13C in coniferous forest ecosystems

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro universitet

    Författare :Daniel Comstedt; Örebro universitet.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Autotrophic; Boreal forest; Elevated CO2; 13C; Natural abundance of stable isotopes; Picea abies; PLS; Root respiration; Soil respiration; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Soils of Northern Hemisphere forests contain a large part of the global terrestrial carbon (C) pool. Even small changes in this pool can have large impact on atmospheric [CO2] and the global climate. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Achieving carbon isotope mass balance in northern forest soils, soil respiration and fungi

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro universitet

    Författare :Björn Boström; Örebro universitet.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 13C; Carbon cycle; Ectomycorrhizal fungi; Forest soil; Microbial respiration; Soil respiration; Stable isotopes; NATURAL SCIENCES Biology; NATURVETENSKAP Biologi; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Northern forests contain a large part of the global terrestrial carbon pool and it is unclear whether they will be sinks or sources for atmospheric carbon if the climate warms as predicted. Stable isotope techniques provide unique tools to study the carbon cycle at different scales but the interpretation of the isotope data is impaired by our inability to close the carbon isotope mass balance of ecosystems.
