26. Synthesis of nucleotide, peptide and lipid containing molecular tools for life science studies
Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on five parts. The first and second chapters describes two synthetic routes, employing different protecting group strategies for synthesis of uridine 3'-(ethyl, 2-ethoxyethyl, 2-chloroethyl, 2,2-dichloroethyl and 2,2,2-trichloroethyl) phosphate. LÄS MER
27. Fungal and mussel protein sources in fish feed : nutritional and physiological aspects
Sammanfattning : Fungal and mussel protein sources in the diet of Eurasian perch (Perca fluviatilis), Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus) and rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and their effect on growth performance, nutrient utilisation, intestinal barrier function and post-prandial profiles of plasma amino acids and whole blood parameters were evaluated in this thesis. Apparent digestibility of dry matter, sum of amino acids and gross energy in experiment with Arctic charr decreased with dietary inclusion of intact Saccharomyces cerevisiae. LÄS MER
28. Superheater corrosion in biomass and waste fired boilers : Characterisation, causes and prevention of chlorine-induced corrosion
Sammanfattning : Biomass and waste fired boilers suffer severely from corrosion of critical components such as superheater tubes. In this work high temperature corrosion of superheater alloys, and methods to mitigate the problem, have been investigated by laboratory studies and controlled field exposures in commercial boilers. 29. Type 1 diabetes in adults: modern treatment and risk of major coronary events
Sammanfattning : Background: According to the National Diabetes Register (NDR) report (2016), 21.2% of adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D) achieve glycaemic targets measured with HbA1c (52 mmol / mol) and 20.1% of patients have very poor glycaemic control (HbA1c> 70 mmol / mol). LÄS MER
30. Catalytic formation of ammonia from nitric oxide
Sammanfattning : The emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx) from automobiles results in severe environmental and biological effects. Passive selective catalytic reduction (passive SCR) of NOx with ammonia (NH3) is a proposed method for abatement of NOx emissions in net lean-burn gasoline passenger vehicles. LÄS MER
