11. Physical Vapor Deposition of Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia and Gadolinia-Doped Ceria Thin Films for Fuel Cell Applications
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, reactive sputter deposition of yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) and cerium gadolinium oxide (CGO) thin films for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) applications have been studied. All films have been deposited under industrial conditions.YSZ films were deposited on silicon wafers as well as commercial NiO-YSZ fuel cell anodes. LÄS MER
12. Ionic Transport in Metal Oxides Studied in situ by Impedance Spectroscopy and Cyclic Voltammetry
Sammanfattning : Ionic transport in metal oxides is crucial for the functioning of a broad range of different components, such as heat resistant alloys designed for high temperature applications and oxide electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells. This thesis presents results from in situ electrochemical studies of properties related to ionic transport in metal oxides that are important for their applications as protective oxides and ionic conductors. Sammanfattning : Loss of teeth can affect a person’s self-esteem, social life, appearance and oral function. Reconstruction of a missing tooth has scientifically been shown to increase self-esteem and quality of life and to maintain oral function. 14. The Submerged Entry Nozzle : A Study of how to Reduce Decarburization and Clogging
Sammanfattning : During continuous casting the submerged entry nozzle (SEN) is one of the critical points. This since sequence casting is favourable, clogging of the SEN results in fever sequences or aborted castings. In this study the preheating of SEN has been evaluated at different steel plants. 15. Design of Microstructures in Thermal Barrier Coatings : A Modelling Approach
Sammanfattning : Plasma sprayed Thermal Barrier Coating systems (TBCs) are commonly used for thermal protection of components in modern gas turbine application such as power generation, marine and aero engines. The material that is most commonly used in these applications is Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) because of this ceramic’s favourable properties, such as low thermal conductivity, phase stability to high temperature, and good erosion resistance.
