  1. 1. Cohesive modelling of the temperature dependence of epoxy based adhesives in Mode I and Mode II loading

    Författare :Tomas Walander; Ulf Stigh; Anders Biel; Erik Serrano; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cohesive laws; Epoxy adhesive; Fracture energy; Peak stress; Temperature; Regression analyses; Shear modulus; Young’s modulus.; Technology; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, the influence of the temperature on the cohesive laws for two epoxy adhesives is studied at temperatures below the glass transition temperature for both Mode I and Mode II loading. Cohesive laws are measured experimentally under quasi-static loading conditions in the temperature range -30≤T≤80"C" . LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : AbstractCarbon nanotubes (CNTs) have extraordinary mechanical and electrical properties. Together with their small dimensions and low density, they are attractive candidates for building blocks in future nanoelectromechanical systems and for many other applications. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Rock Mechanical Consequences of Refrigeration. A Study Based on a Pilot Scale Rock Cavern

    Författare :Lars-Olof Dahlström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; temperature decrease; tensile strength; thermomechanical loading; compressive strength; Poisson s ratio; thermal contraction; rock caverns; rock mass deformation; Young s modulus;

    Sammanfattning : The deformation of a rock mass due to temperature decrease below freezing is very complex, since many factors are involved; thermal strain, strain due to stress change, stress re-distribution, ice formation and the temperature dependency of rock mechanical and thermo-physical properties. The objective of this study was to achieve a better understanding of the rock mass response to thermo-mechanical loading when storing low temperature products in rock caverns excavated in hard crystalline rock masses. 4. 4. Design of Microstructures in Thermal Barrier Coatings : A Modelling Approach

    Författare :Mohit Kumar Gupta; Per Nylén; Robert Vaβen; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thermal barrier coatings; microstructure; thermal conductivity; Young‘s modulus; lifetime; finite element modelling; design; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Plasma sprayed Thermal Barrier Coating systems (TBCs) are commonly used for thermal protection of components in modern gas turbine application such as power generation, marine and aero engines. The material that is most commonly used in these applications is Yttria Stabilized Zirconia (YSZ) because of this ceramic’s favourable properties, such as low thermal conductivity, phase stability to high temperature, and good erosion resistance. 5. 5. Nanomechanical Studies and Applications of Cantilever Sensors

    Författare :Sara Ghatnekar-Nilsson; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysik; Physics; resonating; mass sensor; Young s modulus; CMOS; cantilevers; electron beam lithography; liquid;

    Sammanfattning : Different aspects of cantilevers to be used as sensors have been studied. Silicon cantilevers have been fabricated and integrated on CMOS chips using low-energy electron beam lithography in order to reduce the irradiation damage to the circuits. The released and integrated cantilevers have been tested and used as mass sensors in air. LÄS MER
