  1. 6. Aspects on Chronic Venous Disease of the Lower Limb

    Författare :Gudmundur Danielsson; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi; Cardiovascular system; Kardiovaskulära systemet; traumatology; orthopaedics; Surgery; duplex ultrasound; foot volumetry; Chronic venous disease; CEAP classification;

    Sammanfattning : Controversies exist regarding both what is required for a proper diagnosis of chronic venous disease (CVD), and what treatment to offer patients. An objective evaluation is mandatory to individualize treatment. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Brain Tumor Imaging and Treatment Effects. Imaging findings and cognitive function in glioblastoma patients

    Författare :Anna Rydelius; Lund Neurologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Glioblastoma; Imaging finding; Quantitative volumetry; Cognitive function; Diffusion tensor imaging DTI ; Treatment effect; Radiotherapy; VMAT; Parametric response maps PRM ; Treatment responce prediction;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractBackground: Glioblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor. Operation with maximal resection, if feasible, otherwise biopsy followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy with temozolomide is standard therapy. The prognosis remains poor, with median overall survival being 15 months despite therapy. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Ultrasound prediction of large fetuses. Epidemiological and clinical investigations

    Författare :Gun Lindell; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Two-dimensional ultrasound; three-dimensional ultrasound; fetus; intrauterine growth; maternal characteristic; large-for-gestational age; antenatal calculation; Bayesian theorem; fetal weight; estimation; post-term fetus; fetal macrosomia;

    Sammanfattning : The proportions of newborns with a birth weight (BW) >4,000 g and of macrosomic newborns (BW >4,500 g) have increased during the last two decades, parallel with an increasing maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and age at the time for pregnancy. Delivery of a large fetus, especially >4,500 g might cause perinatal complications for both the mother and her child. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Pancreatic cancer : prevention through improved diagnostics in individuals at risk

    Författare :Raffaella Pozzi Mucelli; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : With the intent of timely detecting malignant precursors or pancreatic cancer (PC) in an early stage, current guidelines recommend surveillance for patients with pancreatic cystic neoplasms (PCNs), such as intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMN), and individuals at risk (IAR) for familiar/hereditary pancreatic cancer (PC). This surveillance is mainly performed with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). LÄS MER
