  1. 1. Gestational Weight Gain Implications of an Antenatal Lifestyle Intervention

    Detta är en avhandling från Örebro : Örebro university

    Författare :Ann-Kristin Rönnberg; Örebro universitet.; [2016]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gestational weight gain; maternal health; pregnancy; prevention of obesity; lifestyle intervention; childhood obesity; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Excessive gestational weight gain (GWG) is common in developed countries and is associated with an increased risk of maternal and offspring morbidity. Evidence regarding efficacy and safety of antenatal lifestyle intervention is limited in terms of both systematic reviews and original trials. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ultrasound prediction of large fetuses. Epidemiological and clinical investigations

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Lund University

    Författare :Gun Lindell; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Two-dimensional ultrasound; three-dimensional ultrasound; fetus; intrauterine growth; maternal characteristic; large-for-gestational age; antenatal calculation; Bayesian theorem; fetal weight; estimation; post-term fetus; fetal macrosomia;

    Sammanfattning : The proportions of newborns with a birth weight (BW) >4,000 g and of macrosomic newborns (BW >4,500 g) have increased during the last two decades, parallel with an increasing maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and age at the time for pregnancy. Delivery of a large fetus, especially >4,500 g might cause perinatal complications for both the mother and her child. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Public Health Aspects of Preterm Birth. Studies using Scandinavian population-based data

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Lund University

    Författare :Nils-Halvdan Morken; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2008]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; preterm birth; preterm delivery; subgroups; spontaneous preterm birth; iatrogenic preterm birth; birth weight; fetal growth; reference population; outcome; cerebral palsy; prediction;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Preterm birth is an unresolved serious global health problem. Research must be multi-disciplinary, with assessment of risk factors and causative agents at many levels of observation. Such an important level is the public health aspect of preterm birth. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Birth asphyxia Fetal scalp blood sampling and risk factors for hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Lena Liljeström; Uppsala universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; asphyxia; fetal scalp blood sampling; hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy; obstetric emergencies; operative deliveries for fetal distress; overweight; short stature; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;

    Sammanfattning : Preventing birth asphyxia is a major challenge in delivery care. The aims of this thesis were to evaluate fetal scalp blood sampling (FBS) and explore risk factors for moderate to severe neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Vulnerability and Social Functioning in Schizophrenia

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Gabriella Stålberg; Uppsala universitet.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Coping; fetal growth; low birth weight; neuropeptides; outcome; problem solving skills; psychosis; risk factors; schizophrenia; siblings; social function; twins; Psychiatry; Psykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis offers a broad approach in elucidating biological risk factors, as well as psychological and social functioning in schizophrenia. The aims are as follows: (I) investigate the association between birth characteristics and schizophrenia, (II) study the association between levels of neurotransmitter neuropeptide Y (NPY) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), social function and longitudinal outcome in schizophrenia, (III) compare social functioning of patients with schizophrenia with their biological siblings and (IV) explore how siblings to patients with schizophrenia perceive the sibling relationship and their role.
