  1. 1. Aspects of Gestational Diabetes Screening System, Maternal and Fetal Complications

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Ingrid Östlund; Uppsala universitet.; [2003]

    Sammanfattning : The appropriateness of universal screening for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has been strongly questioned, since it does not satisfy ethical principles for screening. The aims of these studies were to determine the prevalence of GDM, expressed in terms of impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) and diabetes mellitus (DM), to evaluate different screening models using traditional anamnestic risk factors and repeated random B-glucose, to determine whether GDM increases risks for maternal complications such as preeclampsia, and to determine whether IGT during pregnancy, if left untreated, is associated with increased maternal or neonatal morbidity. 2. 2. Ultrasound prediction of large fetuses. Epidemiological and clinical investigations

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Lund University

    Författare :Gun Lindell; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Two-dimensional ultrasound; three-dimensional ultrasound; fetus; intrauterine growth; maternal characteristic; large-for-gestational age; antenatal calculation; Bayesian theorem; fetal weight; estimation; post-term fetus; fetal macrosomia;

    Sammanfattning : The proportions of newborns with a birth weight (BW) >4,000 g and of macrosomic newborns (BW >4,500 g) have increased during the last two decades, parallel with an increasing maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and age at the time for pregnancy. Delivery of a large fetus, especially >4,500 g might cause perinatal complications for both the mother and her child. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Type 1 diabetes in pregnancy-Perinatal outcome with special reference to fetal macrosomia

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Public Health Sciences

    Författare :Martina Persson; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this epidemiological study was to elucidate whether in recent years, obstetric and perinatal outcomes in pregnancies complicated by type 1 diabetes (T1DM) have improved or not. The objective was also to identify possible risk factors for adverse outcome for the mother, fetus and the newborn. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Interventions during pregnancy and labor and obstetric outcome

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Clinical Sciences, Danderyd Hospital

    Författare :Malin Thorsell; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives: The overall objective with the present thesis was to assess pregnancy and delivery associated risk factors for adverse pregnancy outcomes. Specific aims were : 1) to analyze the association between fetal size at the time of dating ultrasound and the risk of preterm delivery, small for gestational age birth (SGA), and macrosomia and to evaluate if the timing of ultrasound, i.
