Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we propose some Bayesian approaches to the identificationof structured dynamical systems. In particular, we consider block-orientedmodels in which a complex system is built starting from simple linear andnonlinear building blocks. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Bayesian inference is a statistical inference technique in which Bayes’ theorem is used to update the probability distribution of a random variable using observations. Except for few simple cases, expression of such probability distributions using compact analytical expressions is infeasible. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The proportions of newborns with a birth weight (BW) >4,000 g and of macrosomic newborns (BW >4,500 g) have increased during the last two decades, parallel with an increasing maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and age at the time for pregnancy. Delivery of a large fetus, especially >4,500 g might cause perinatal complications for both the mother and her child. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The discipline usually called `probability theory' can be seen as the theory which describes and sets standard norms to the way we reason about plausibility. From this point of view, this `plausibility theory' is a province of logic, and the following informal proportion subsists:plausibility theory is to the common notion of `plausibility', as deductive logic is to the common notion of `truth'. Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of a summary and five papers, dealing with the modeling of Gaussian bridges and membranes and inference for the α-Brownian bridge. In Paper I we study continuous Gaussian processes conditioned that certain functionals of their sample paths vanish. We deduce anticipative and non-anticipative representations for them. LÄS MER
