1. Radiotherapy and voice rehabilitation in laryngeal cancer: Effects on quality of life and voice function
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the thesis was to describe the effects of radiotherapy following laryngeal cancer on health-related quality of life (HRQL) and voice function as well as to assess the efficiency of voice rehabilitation. Patients treated by radiotherapy for laryngeal cancer were included in the study and randomised into two groups, one intervention group receiving voice rehabilitation and one control group. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : This thesis adds to the knowledge base of how the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) can be optimized to secure a more sustainable working career for people with severe mental illness (SMI). The thesis has given the IPS-participants an active voice about what it is like to start to work in a Swedish context, visualised the psychiatric disability in relation to work, discerned the support and process in IPS, and emphasized the employers’ experiences in an IPS-context. 4. Olfactory function after total laryngectomy in Swedish patients after rehabilitation with the Nasal Airflow-Inducing Maneuver
Sammanfattning : After a total laryngectomy the upper and lower airways are disconnected resulting in a wide range of adverse effects, e.g. deterioration of nasal functions in breathing, loss or decrease of normal sense of smell and taste, as well as loss of normal voice. LÄS MER
Sammanfattning : This dissertation consists of five parts dealing with three areas; voice science, voice pedagogics and musical expression. The ultimate aim was to use the scientific analyzes of my vocal expression as a complement to a vocal teaching method that is applicable for the vocal ideals used in the popular music genres, considering also current scientific knowledge in the areas of physiology, acoustics and rehabilitation.
