  1. 1. Driving Violations : Investigating Forms of Irrational Rationality

    Författare :Sonja Forward; Lars Åberg; Dianne Parker; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; theory of planned behaviour; driving violations; risk-taking; speeding; dangerous overtaking; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : Several aspects contribute to road crashes and one important part is the ‘human factor’. This information is interesting but insufficient unless we also try to understand what is meant by the term. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modelling self-reported aberrant driving behaviour

    Författare :Per-Arne Rimmö; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Driving behaviour; Self-reports; Errors; Violations; Personality; Factor analysis; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : The highly complex behaviour involved in driving a vehicle may be viewed as a form of action control in a potentially hazardous traffic system. Behavioural adaptation to the traffic system is imperfect, as is sometimes reflected in mishaps and road traffic accidents. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Space and Sensibility : Young Men’s Risk-Taking with Motor Vehicles

    Författare :Tanja Joelsson; Jeff Hearn; Carina Listerborn; Aretun Åsa; Tracey Skelton; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Gender; masculinity; age; class; place; spatial boredom; risk‐taking; violence; violations; ethnography; Kön; maskulinitet; ålder; klass; plats; rumslig tristess; risktagande; våld; kränkning; etnografi;

    Sammanfattning : In this ethnographic study of “Volvo greasers” [Volvoraggare] in a peri-urban community in Sweden, risk-taking practices with motor vehicles, such as speeding and drifting, are explored and analyzed in relation to age, gender, class and place. Young men’s risk-taking with motor vehicles regularly generates public debate as a traffic safety issue, often resulting in various policy suggestions, such as curfews or raising of the driving licence age. 4. 4. Aggregating Case Studies of Vehicle Crashes by Means of Causation Charts : An Evaluation and Revision of the Driving Reliability and Error Analysis Method

    Författare :Jesper Sandin; Per Lövsund; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Accident; Cause; Classification; Characteristics; Driver; Error; 81 Road: Accidents; 81 Road: Accidents; 841 Road: Road user behaviour; 841 Road: Road user behaviour;

    Sammanfattning : There is a need for increased knowledge about causes to motor-vehicle crashes and their prevention. Multidisciplinary in-depth case studies can provide detailed causation data that is otherwise unattainable. Such data might allow the formulation of hypotheses of causes and causal relationships for further study. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Older drivers with cognitive impairments : issues of detection and assessment

    Författare :Catarina Lundberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Older drivers; cognitive impairment; preclinical dementia; cognitive assessment; driving test;

    Sammanfattning : Older drivers are often presented as a traffic safety problem. Age-related medical conditions such as dementias and stroke impair cognitive functions that are crucial for safe driving. Uncertainty remains regarding the most appropriate clinical methods to assess driving fitness in these patient groups. LÄS MER
