  1. 1. Doppler Velocimetry in the Evaluation of Fetal Well-Being

    Författare :Mariusz Dubiel; gynekologisk och prenatal ultraljudsdiagnostik Obstetrisk; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Obstetrics; perinatal outcome; physiology; fetus; Doppler velocimetry; Color Doppler Energy; gynaecology; andrology; reproduction; sexuality; Obstetrik; gynekologi; andrologi; reproduktion; sexualitet;

    Sammanfattning : Ultrasound Doppler velocimetry was used to predict fetal well-being. The uterine artery blood velocimetry seemed to be a good predictor of perinatal outcome in high-risk pregnancies and a complement to umbilical artery velocimetry. The fetal middle cerebral artery blood velocimetry might be an early sign of fetal hypoxia. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Particle image velocimetry in practice

    Författare :Torbjörn Green; Kristian Angele; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Experimental fluid mechanics has for a long time been used to visualize flow phenomenon. An early pioneer was Ludwig Prandtl who used aluminum particles in water flumes to describe the flow in a qualitative manner. In line with the rapid development of Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD, the need for new validation tools has increased. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Temporally gated imaging for investigation of atomizing sprays

    Författare :Mattias Rahm; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ballistic imaging; Imaging through turbid media; Sprays; Velocimetry; Time-gated sectioning.; Optical Kerr effect; Ultrafast lasers;

    Sammanfattning : Fuel sprays play an important role in the combustion process of modern compression ignition engines, but their dynamics are not well understood. This thesis focuses on time-gated imaging techniques as a means to study the optically dense spray formation region of these atomizing sprays. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Laser Diagnostics Applied to Lean Premixed Swirling Flames - Simultaneous Flow Field and Scalar Measurements

    Författare :Per Petersson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Volumetric Velocimetry; Low-swirl Flames; Premixed Flames; Turbulent Combustion; Particle Image Velocimetry; Laser Diagnostics; A.2014:Petersson; Combustion Diagnostics;

    Sammanfattning : The work reported here includes experimental studies of lean premixed swirling flames. Various laser-based optical diagnostic techniques were used to collect information under different operational conditions. Combined flow- and scalar field measurements were performed at high repetition rates for detailed studies of the turbulent flames. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Investigations of Flow Patterns in Ventilated Rooms Using Particle Image Velocimetry : Applications in a Scaled Room with Rapidly Varying Inflow and over a Wall-Mounted Radiator

    Sammanfattning : This thesis introduces and describes a new experimental setup for examining the effects of pulsating inflow to a ventilated enclosure. The study aimed to test the hypothesis that a pulsating inflow has potential to improve ventilation quality by reducing the stagnation zones through enhanced mixing. LÄS MER
