16. The Horizontal Ussing Chamber Method in Studies of Nasal Drug Delivery : Method Development and Applications Using Different Formulations
Sammanfattning : The results from this thesis leads to the following conclusions; HUM is a useful tool that fills a gap in the in vitro methods previously available to study nasal drug delivery. Using HUM, the pig respiratory nasal mucosa can obtain acceptable viability and retain it longer than the period of time needed for a transport experiment. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The aim with this thesis was to study cardiovascular disease and hypertension, use of drugs and health from an epidemiological perspective. Various methods - self-rated health (SRH), health related quality of life (HRQL) - the 36-item short form questionnaire (SF-36) - and health utility measurements - the rating scale (RS) and the time-trade off (TTO) methods - were employed. Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis are to assess health-related quality-of-life (HRQoL) in a general population and among patients with psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (AD). Instruments include the generic health-profile instruments Short Form 36 (SF-36) and Short Form 12 (SF-12); the preference-based methods: rating scale (RS), time trade-off (TTO), standard gamble (SG) and the contingent valuation method of measuring willingness-to-pay (WTP); and the disease-specific Dermatology Life Quality Instrument (DLQI). Sammanfattning : Relationships between stresses during the drying process, particle structural and functional properties, and particle engineering by the drying process were addressed in this thesis. 20. Microdialysis as a tool in pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic studies investigating the brain distribution and effect delay of morphine and morphine-6-glucuronide
Sammanfattning : The microdialysis technique was developed as a tool for studying the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamicrelationships of morphine and morphine-6-glucronide (M6G). Concentrations of unbound drug in blood andbrain were monitored in order to elucidate the origin of the observed delay in antinociceptive effect in rats. LÄS MER
