11. Synthesis of 11C-labelled Alkyl Iodides : Using Non-thermal Plasma and Palladium-mediated Carbonylation Methods
Sammanfattning : Compounds labelled with 11C (β+, t1/2 = 20.4 min) are used in positron emission tomography (PET), which is a quantitative non-invasive molecular imaging technique. It utilizes computerized reconstruction methods to produce time-resolved images of the radioactivity distribution in living subjects. LÄS MER
12. Electro-thermal simulations and measurements of silicon carbide power transistors
Sammanfattning : The temperature dependent electrical characteristics of silicon carbide power transistors – 4H-SiC metal semiconductor field-effect transistors (MESFETs) and 4H-SiC bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) have been investigated through simulation and experimental approaches. Junction temperatures and temperature distributions in devices under large power densities have been estimated. LÄS MER
13. Development of optical diagnostics of plasma-related phenomena and applications
Sammanfattning : Optical diagnostics techniques based on coded imaging were developed and applied for plasma-related phenomena and applications. The signal of interest is first encoded with a sinusoid pattern either by structured laser illumination or implement of a diffractive optical element, such as a grating, along the optical path of the signal. 14. Ionization of large molecules with short laser pulses
Sammanfattning : The decay dynamics of fullerenes and polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) after femtosecond-laser excitation have been studied experimentally by electron momentum mapping and mass spectrometry. The electron spectra of fullerenes and large PAH-molecules were found to be exponentially decreasing with energy without any distinct peaks outside the photon energy. LÄS MER
15. Interstitial laser thermotherapy (ILT) of breast cancer - Methodology and immunological responce
Sammanfattning : Interstitial laser thermotherapy (ILT) is an attractive form of local therapy against cancer because of its anti-tumor immune activity. The aim of this work was to evaluate ILT in breast cancer with respect to technique, changes in tissue immunocompetent cells and effect on prognosis. LÄS MER
