Chapters 2 – 4, co-authored with Ola Andersson, investigate communication and renegotiation in dynamic games. LÄS MER
7. Risk assessment of chemical mixtures in the aquatic environment
Sammanfattning : The total chemical production within the European Union amounts to more than 300 million tonnes per year, of which 140 million tonnes are considered as hazardous to the environment. In order to ensure that these chemicals do not have harmful effects under normal use, likely environmental concentrations are compared to assumed environmentally safe concentration, and only if the resulting risk is deemed acceptable is the product or chemical allowed for use. 8. Risk Assessment and Decision Support for Managing Drinking Water Systems
Sammanfattning : The vital importance of a reliable and safe drinking water supply makes efficient risk management necessary for water utilities. Risks must be assessed and possible risk-reduction measures evaluated to provide relevant decision support. LÄS MER
9. Evaluation of image quality and diagnostic accuracy in breast tomosynthesis. Comparison with digital mammography and estimates of radiation risk
Sammanfattning : Recent advances in the digital detector technology have paved the way for modalities such as two-dimensional digital mammography (DM) and three-dimensional breast tomosynthesis (BT). In this work, experimental studies were conducted to investigate the influence of reducing the average glandular dose (AGD) on detection of simulated lesions in DM and to compare the diagnostic accuracy of BT and DM. 10. Prenatal Ultrasound and X-ray - Potentially Adverse Effects on the CNS
Sammanfattning : The aim with this thesis was to assess the impact of prenatal ultrasound exposure on psychotic illness, childhood brain tumors (CBT) and school achievement, and to evaluate prenatal X-ray exposure and the risk of CBT.In a cohort study, children born in Malmö 1973-1978, where prenatal ultrasound was used routinely, were considered exposed (n=13, 212) and children born at hospitals with no use of ultrasound, were considered unexposed (n=357,733).
