    Författare :Tove Kivijärvi; Anna Finne Wistrand; Barner-Kowollik Christopher; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biomaterial; controllable chemistry; polyester; ring-opening polymerization; hyaluronan; degradation; photoactivation; protein release; cell differentiation; biomaterial; kontrollerbar kemi; polyester; ring-öppnings polymerisering; hyaluronsyra; nedbrytning; fotoaktivering; frigöring av protein; celldifferentiering; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Chemistry and biology at the interphase will most likely give many of the answers to tomorrows medical challenges. Creating solutions to the problems at this interphase is benefiting from a collaborative research approach, driven by the need for development of chemistries or devices solving medical problems. 2. 17. Synthesis of O-linked Carbasugar Analogues of Galactofuranosides and N-linked Neodisaccharides

    Författare :Jens Frigell; Ian Cumpstey; George Fleet; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbasugar; galactofuranose; mycobacterium; tuberculosis; ring-closing metathesis; GlfT2; galactan; epoxide-opening; pseudodisaccharide; etherification; regioselective; carbohydrate; carbocycles; glycomimetics; glucosidase; neodisaccharides; Mitsunobu; Organic synthesis; Organisk syntes; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, carbohydrate mimicry is investigated through the syntheses of carbohydrate analogues and evaluation of their inhibitory effects on carbohydrate-processing enzymes. Galactofuranosides are interesting structures because they are common motifs in pathogenic microorganisms but not found in mammals. M. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Thermodynamic Toolkit for Chemical Recycling to Monomer

    Författare :Linnea Cederholm; Karin Odelius; Minna Hakkarainen; Peter Olsen; Louis Pitet; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chemical recycling to monomer; polymerization thermodynamics; ring-opening polymerization; solvent effect; polyester; polycarbonate; copolymer; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : The design of polymeric materials for a circular economy is, to a largeextent, a challenge of thermodynamics. The work presented in this thesishas explored the thermodynamic features of ring-opening polymerizationand ring-closing depolymerization, to develop polymeric materials andrecycling strategies for chemical recycling to monomer. Sammanfattning : The regeneration of damaged tissues or organs using porous scaffolds which act as temporary guides for the patient’s own cells, i.e. tissue engineering, is a means to overcome the shortcomings of current standard medical treatments. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Lipase-Catalyzed Syntheses of Telechelic Polyesters

    Författare :Magnus Eriksson; Karl Hult; Mats Martinelle; Sergio Riva; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Candida antarctica lipase B; lipase-catalysis; polymerization; telechelic; functional polyesters; ring-opening polymerization; polycondensation.; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Telechelic polyesters have successfully been synthesized with lipase-catalyzed polymerization. The produced telechelics had a high degree of difunctionalization, high purity (requiring little or no workup) and controlled degree of polymerization. The syntheses were performed in one-pot one-step reaction systems. LÄS MER
