1. Delayed Hydride Cracking in Irradiated Zircaloy
Sammanfattning : Under some circumstances nuclear fuel cladding tubes made from zirconium based alloys may develop long axial cracks. The formation of these cracks is mainly thought to be connected with the oxiditian and hydriding of the cladding which takes plage after the the formation of a small primary defect. LÄS MER
2. Corrosion of steel bars in fibre reinforced concrete: corrosion mechanisms and structural performance
Sammanfattning : The viability of employing fibre reinforcement to improve the durability performance of RC structures by delaying and/or reducing rebar corrosion and by mitigating the structural impact of corrosion-induced damage have been investigated. Given the enhanced crack control of FRC, it could be advantageous to use fibres in civil engineering structures to decrease the ingress of corrosion-initiation substances. LÄS MER
3. Self-compacting concrete : properties of fresh and hardening concrete for civil engineering applications
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis consists of three papers, A-C. In Paper A the consequence of using self-compacting concrete for civil engineering applications regarding the fresh and young stage and possible consequences on production techniques are studied. LÄS MER
4. Predicting Sheared Edge Characteristics of High Strength Steels
Sammanfattning : An efficient way of reducing CO2 emissions from the transportation sector is to reduce the vehicle weights, i.e. lightweighting. A common strategy for lightweighting of vehicles is to replace the steels used to build structural parts of the vehicle, usually manufactured by metallic sheets, with stronger, advanced high strength steel (AHSS) grades. 5. Evaluation of concrete structures : strength development and fatigue capacity
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis consists of four papers. In paper A the development of tensile and compression strength are presented for old concrete railway trough bridges. The compression strength has usually increased 50 to 100% over the years. However the same could not be said for the tensile strength. LÄS MER
