  1. 1. Hydrothermal recycling of natural and synthetic polymers to functional carbon materials

    Författare :Karin Adolfsson; Minna Hakkarainen; Istvan Furo; Andrea Kruse; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Utilizing renewable recourses and waste recycling are necessary for reaching a circular resource society. The concept of this thesis was to set up a sustainable recycling route, suitable even for low quality biopolymer and plastic waste for production of functional carbon materials. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Microwave heating effects on degradation and migration of additives from polypropylene packaging

    Författare :Jonas Alin; Minna Hakkarainen; Jiebing Li; Anna Finne Wistrand; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The effect of different food types, polymer qualities and microwaves on the overall and specific migration during microwave heating of plastic packaging was investigated to better understand the packaging-food interactions and the effect of microwaves on food packaging. This work focuses on the migration of chemical compounds to food simulants from commercially available polypropylene packages. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Migration from plastic food packaging during microwave heating

    Författare :Jonas Alin; Minna Hakkarainen; Sahar Al-Malaika; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; migration; food packaging; microwave; degradation; food simulant; antioxidant;

    Sammanfattning : Microwave heating of food has increased rapidly as a food processing technique. This increases the concern that chemicals could migrate from food packaging to food. The specific effect of microwave heating in contrast to conventional heating on overall and specific migration from common plastic food storage boxes was studied in this work. LÄS MER

  4. 4. LDI-MS strategies for analysis of polymer degradation products, additives and drugs

    Författare :Nina Aminlashgari; Minna Hakkarainen; Peter J. Schoenmakers; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometry LDI-MS ; surface; polymer degradation products; additive; drugs; nanoparticles; nanocomposites; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : The advancement of mass spectrometry (MS) has been and continues to be a prominent analytical technique for highly accurate determination of analytes. The goal of this thesis was to develop new laser desorption ionization-mass spectrometric (LDI-MS) methods for analysis of polymer degradation products, additives and drugs. LÄS MER
