  1. 1. Simulation and Optimization of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems

    Författare :Simon Pedersen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; dynamic modelling; optimization; biofilter; wastewater treatment; Recirculating aquaculture;

    Sammanfattning : Recirculating aquaculture -- intensive fish farming with water treatment and reuse -- has great potential as a method for sustainable food production. Benefits over traditional aquaculture include opportunities to reduce nitrogen emissions to water, control of temperature, salinity and pH, reduced environmental impact of escapes and better protection against e. 2. 2. Nutrient Transfer in Aquaponic Systems – Optimizing microbial processes for greater circularity and economic viability

    Författare :Victor P. Lobanov; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Aquaculture; Aquaponics; Controlled environment agriculture; Waste revalorization; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : The trend towards sustainable process design in modern industries combines the goal of improving process efficiency with a conscientious shift towards resource conservation. Aquaponics, a system that involves co-cultivating fish and plants, is a waste-conscious food production system. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Brewer’s yeast as a protein source in the diet of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and freshwater prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) reared in a clear water or biofloc environment

    Författare :Huu Yen Nhi Nguyen; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigated the effects of dietary protein replacement of fishmeal or soybean meal with spent brewer’s yeast (SBY) in farmed tilapia and giant freshwater prawns. The effect of rearing tilapia and prawn in two different rearing systems, clear water recirculating aquaculture system (CW-RAS) and biofloc recirculating aquaculture system (Bio-RAS), were also investigated.
