11. Cyanobacterial Hydrogen Metabolism - Uptake Hydrogenase and Hydrogen Production by Nitrogenase in Filamentous Cyanobacteria
Sammanfattning : Molecular hydrogen is a potential energy carrier for the future. Nitrogen-fixing cyanobacteria are a group of photosynthetic microorganisms with the inherent ability to produce molecular hydrogen via the enzyme complex nitrogenase. This hydrogen is not released, however, but is recaptured by the bacteria using an uptake hydrogenase. LÄS MER
12. Development of Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics Tools : From Hydrogen Evolution to Cell Division in Cyanobacteria
Sammanfattning : The use of fossil fuels presents a particularly interesting challenge - our society strongly depends on coal and oil, but we are aware that their use is damaging the environment. Currently, this awareness is gaining momentum, and pressure to evolve towards an energetically cleaner planet is very strong. LÄS MER
13. Metabolic Engineering of Synechocystis PCC 6803 for Butanol Production
Sammanfattning : There is an urgent demand for renewable alternatives to fossil fuels since the extraction and utilization cause a series of environmental problems in the world. Thus, the utilization of solar energy has attracted much attention in the last decades since there is excess amount of light on Earth. LÄS MER
14. Failure-Free Pharmacies? : An Exploration of Dispensing Errors and Safety Culture in Swedish Community Pharmacies
Sammanfattning : Quality in pharmacies includes aspects such as error management and safety issues. The objective of this thesis was to explore these aspects of quality in Swedish community phar-macies. The specific aims were to compare a paper-based and a web-based reporting system for dispensing errors, regarding reporting behaviour and data quality. LÄS MER
15. Regulation of the Cyanobacterial Bidirectional Hydrogenase
Sammanfattning : Today, mankind faces a new challenge in energetic terms: a new Industrial Revolution is imperative, already called by some as an Energetic Revolution. This corresponds to a conversion to clean, environmentally friendly and renewable energy sources. LÄS MER
