21. Development of catalysts for natural gas-fired gas turbine combustors
Sammanfattning : Due to continuously stricter regulations regarding emissions from power generation processes, further development of existing gas turbine combustors is essential. A promising alternative to conventional flame combustion in gas turbines is catalytic combustion, which can result in ultralow emission levels of NOx, CO and unburned hydrocarbons. LÄS MER
22. Study of bio-oil and bio-char production from thermal and catalytic hydrotreatment of simulated pyrolysis oil under mild conditions
Sammanfattning : Pyrolysis oil derived from fast pyrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass is a promising alternative energy source used to produce renewable biofuels. However, the high reactivity of unsaturated oxygenated compounds in pyrolysis oil results in charring and deactivation of the catalyst under severe hydrotreatment conditions. LÄS MER
23. Multicomponent Reactions in 11C/12C Chemistry : – Targeting the Angiotensin II Subtype 2 Receptor
Sammanfattning : Section 1 of this thesis contains an introduction to method development in organic synthesis, multicomponent reactions, sulfonyl azides, tracer development in 11C chemistry and the biological target.Section 2 describes the use of sulfonyl azides in carbonylative chemistry. Paper I covers development of a diazotransfer protocol. LÄS MER
24. Deactivation of commercial three-way catalysts: Experimental and theoretical studies
Sammanfattning : This PhD thesis is a summary of my work with thermal deactivated commercial three way catalysts (TWCs). An examination of catalytic properties, before and after accelerated aging was performed, such as light-off temperature, specific surface area (BET), noble metal dispersion and oxygen storage capacity was performed. 25. Transient In Situ Studies on Supported Catalysts: CO2 Methanation and Methane Oxidation
Sammanfattning : This dissertation aims to increase the understanding of important steps in the catalytic CO2 hydrogenation and total methane oxidation reactions over supported noble metal catalysts. A general theme is the role of the metal oxide support for the catalytic reactions. LÄS MER
