  1. 1. Ligands of the Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor : Exploring structure and function of the AT2R ligand C38

    Författare :Rebecka Isaksson; Mats Larhed; Annette Bayer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Angiotensin II type 2 receptor; AT2R antagonists; sulfonyl carbamates; bicyclic amides; metabolic stability; functional activity assay; pharmacological profile; medicinal chemistry; structure-activity relationship; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Sammanfattning : The renin-angiotensin-aldosterone-system (RAAS) control blood-pressure regulation, exerted by the main effector peptide angiotensin II (AngII) binding the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R). While hypertension is the most known disease caused by over-activity in RAAS, several proteins in the system exhibit protective functions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Multicomponent Reactions in 11C/12C Chemistry : – Targeting the Angiotensin II Subtype 2 Receptor

    Författare :Marc Stevens; Luke Odell; Mats Larhed; Gunnar Antoni; Sergio Estrada; Ola Åberg; Neil Vasdev; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbonylation; positron emission tomography; multicomponent reactions; AT2R; 3; 4-dihydroquinazolinone; sulfonyl azides; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Section 1 of this thesis contains an introduction to method development in organic synthesis, multicomponent reactions, sulfonyl azides, tracer development in 11C chemistry and the biological target.Section 2 describes the use of sulfonyl azides in carbonylative chemistry. Paper I covers development of a diazotransfer protocol. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Helicobacter pylori associated effects on inflammatory radical formation and angiotensin II receptors in the stomach

    Författare :Anders Elfvin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Helicobacter pylori; Mongolian gerbil; gastric adenocarcinoma; nitro-radical; iNOS; nitric oxide; nitrotyrosine; oxy-radical; myeloperoxidase; angiotensin II; AT1R; AT2R;

    Sammanfattning : Helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach always results in mucosal inflammation and a marked systemic immune response. Despite the profound host defence reactions the bacterium avoids elimination and persists in the mucosa. This results in chronic inflammation and an increased risk for peptic ulcers and adenocarcinoma. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Palladium(0)-Catalyzed Spirocyclization and Carbonylation Reactions : Ligands Targeting the Angiotensin II Type 2 Receptor

    Författare :Jens Lindman; Mats Larhed; Johan Gising; Christian Sköld; Alessandra Tolomelli; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Palladium catalysis; Mizoroki-Heck reaction; spiroindolines; spirooxindoles; amino acids; carbonylation; angiotensin II type 2 receptor; AT2R ligands; Medicinal Chemistry; Läkemedelskemi;

    Sammanfattning : Palladium(0)-catalyzed chemistry represents one of the most important methods for the construction of carbon-carbon bonds, which are ubiquitous in organic compounds. The first part of this thesis describes the palladium(0)-catalyzed diastereoselective Mizoroki-Heck reaction of Vince lactam-derived precursors for the formation of spiroindolines (paper I) and spirooxindoles, which are scaffolds present in several natural products with interesting biological activity. 5. 5. On angiotensin II receptor type 2 receptors in the small intestine

    Författare :Sara Ewert; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :renin-angiotensin; angiotensin; small intestine; mucosa; epithelium; AT1; AT2; bradykinin; BK2 receptor; nitric oxide; iNOS; smooth muscle; contractility;

    Sammanfattning : The endocrine renin-angiotensin system (RAS) is important in the regulation of extracellular fluid volume and systemic blood pressure in strenuous conditions such as hypovolemia. Also present locally in peripheral tissues, all components of RAS are expressed and have been shown to modulate development, cell growth and inflammation. LÄS MER
