2. Hydronic Heating Systems The Effect of Design on System Sensitivity
Sammanfattning : This thesis starts from the recognition that a hydronic heating system can be optimised, but can never be totally perfect. Sooner or later, in practice, deviations - caused by one or more components having slightly different characteristics or settings than they are assumed or supposed to have - arise. LÄS MER
3. Cargo Cult in Agile Software Development
Sammanfattning : Software development (SD) projects are complex endeavors, and organizations employ software development methods (SDMs) both to add structure and to propel their projects. Nowadays, agile SDMs are the most used methods. LÄS MER
4. On large deviations and design of efficient importance sampling algorithms
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers, presented in Chapters 2-5, on the topics large deviations and stochastic simulation, particularly importance sampling. The four papers make theoretical contributions to the development of a new approach for analyzing efficiency of importance sampling algorithms by means of large deviation theory, and to the design of efficient algorithms using the subsolution approach developed by Dupuis and Wang (2007). 5. Walking Along, Wandering Off and Going Astray A Critical Normativity Approach to Walking as a Situated Architectural Experience
Sammanfattning : There is a lack of attention toward the diversity in experiences of architecture that are expressed through walking. Through the application of autoethnography and critical perspectives of queer and feminist theory, this dissertation develops a method for investigating experiences of architecture in regard to the activity of walking.
