16. Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Human Brown Adipose Tissue : Methodological Development and Application
Sammanfattning : Brown adipose tissue (BAT) is a thermogenic organ with the main human depot located in the cervical-supraclavicular (sBAT) region. BAT is proposed as a potential therapeutic target for obesity and diabetes. LÄS MER
17. Anterior shoulder dislocation : Aspects of alternative methods of treatment and MR imaging
Sammanfattning : Sixty patients (16-30 years) with traumatic primary anterior shoulder dislocation were allocated to arthroscopic lavage or non-operative treatment. The arthroscopic lavage group had a lower recurrence rate, better functional outcome and anterior stability after one year. LÄS MER
18. Quality assurance for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in radiotherapy
Sammanfattning : The use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in the radiotherapy (RT) treatment planning workflow is increasing. MRI offers superior soft-tissue contrast compared to Computed Tomography (CT) and therefore improves the accuracy in target volume definitions. LÄS MER
19. Mangafodipir trisodium (MnDPDP)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging of the liver and pancreas
Sammanfattning : Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the liver and pancreas is frequently performed to improve the sensitivity and specificity of lesion detection in these organs. The concept of using tissue-specific contrast media is to selectively enhance the normal parenchyma, but not lesions, so that the contrast between tumorous and normal tissue is increased, and lesion detectability improved. 20. Optimisation in strategies in diffusion tensor MR imaging
Sammanfattning : With diffusion MR imaging, the Brownian motion (or self-diffusion) of water molecules is measured. In the corresponding ADC (Apparent Diffusion Coefficient) image, each image element (voxel) represents the average diffusion. In MRI, the diffusion is measured with diffusion gradients along certain directions in space. LÄS MER
