  1. 11. Plasma Interactions with Icy Bodies in the Solar System

    Författare :Jesper Lindkvist; Mats Holmström; Martin Wieser; Elias Roussos; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; plasma interactions; icy bodies; solar system; space physics; plasma physics; hybrid model; numerical model; solar wind; magnetosphere; sub-Alfvénic; subsonic; non-collisional; atmosphereless; exosphere; coma; subsurface ocean; induction; magnetic dipole; pick-up ion; mass-loading; moon; natural satellite; dwarf planet; comet; Jupiter; Jovian; Callisto; Ceres; 67P; Churyumov-Gerasimenko; rymd- och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Here I study the “plasma interactions with icy bodies in the solar system”, that is, my quest to understand the fundamental processes that govern such interactions. By using numerical modelling combined with in situ observations, one can infer the internal structure of icy bodies and their plasma environments. LÄS MER

  2. 12. "Det är månen att nå- " : en studie i några datorintresserade pojkars språk och föreställningsvärld

    Författare :Eva Erson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Wittgenstein; philosophy of language; the moving example; computers; mastery; masculinist language game; hierarchization; dichotomization; power; control; Wittgenstein; Ludwig; 1889-1951; Programspråk;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to describe some central conceptual ideas expressed in the language of six computer interested boys. The starting-point is the philosophy of language of Ludwig Wittgenstein, where language is seen as something deeply integrated in our practices, traditions and culture. The use of our language shows its meaning. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Simulation studies of new observing concepts for geodetic Very Long Baseline Interferometry

    Författare :Grzegorz Klopotek; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Very Long Baseline Interferometry; space geodesy; Monte Carlo simulations; VGOS; c5 ; Moon; UT1-UTC;

    Sammanfattning : Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) is a space-geodetic technique in which observations are carried out simultaneously by radio telescopes separated by hundreds or thousands of kilometers. The time difference of signal reception between the telescopes is the basic observable used in geodetic VLBI. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Biedl syndrome. Clinical,electrophysiological and genetic aspects

    Författare :Ruth Riise; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Biedl syndrome; Bardet-Biedl syndrome. Retinal dystrophy. Retinitis Pigmentosa. Obesity. Dental anomalies. Skeletal anomalies. Hypogenitalism. Variation. Overlapping. Genetic linkage mapping.; Alström syndrome; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi;

    Sammanfattning : The study included 44 Scandinavian individuals with the autosomal recessive inherited Laurence-Moon-Bardet-Biedl syndrome. Inclusion criteria were retinal dystrophy plus at least 2 more of the remaining traditional cardinal signs of the syndrome: obesity, polydactyly, hypogenitalism and mental retardation. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Solar Wind Proton Interactions with Lunar Magnetic Anomalies and Regolith

    Författare :Charles Lue; Yoshifumi Futaana; Stas Barabash; Urs Mall; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; the Moon; solar wind; magnetic anomalies; regolith; space physics; plasma physics; particle-surface interactions; mini-magnetospheres; energetic neutral atoms; Space Physics; rymdfysik;

    Sammanfattning : The lunar space environment is shaped by the interaction between the Moon and the solar wind. In the present thesis, we investigate two aspects of this interaction, namely the interaction between solar wind protons and lunar crustal magnetic anomalies, and the interaction between solar wind protons and lunar regolith.
