    Författare :Jesper Lindkvist; Mats Holmström; Martin Wieser; Elias Roussos; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; plasma interactions; icy bodies; solar system; space physics; plasma physics; hybrid model; numerical model; solar wind; magnetosphere; sub-Alfvénic; subsonic; non-collisional; atmosphereless; exosphere; coma; subsurface ocean; induction; magnetic dipole; pick-up ion; mass-loading; moon; natural satellite; dwarf planet; comet; Jupiter; Jovian; Callisto; Ceres; 67P; Churyumov-Gerasimenko; rymd- och plasmafysik; Space and Plasma Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Here I study the “plasma interactions with icy bodies in the solar system”, that is, my quest to understand the fundamental processes that govern such interactions. By using numerical modelling combined with in situ observations, one can infer the internal structure of icy bodies and their plasma environments. LÄS MER

  2. 2. The Dynamical Spin Vector Evolution of the Asteroids

    Författare :Erik Skoglöv; Karri Muinonen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astronomy; asteroids; Eros; Ceres; Vesta; dynamics; rotation; rotational dynamics; orbits; resonances; Astronomi; Astronomy and astrophysics; Astronomi och astrofysik; astronomi; Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The dynamical evolution of the spin axis direction due to gravitational and thermal factors is examined. It is found that the spin axis variations generally are regular and relatively small for the bodies in the asteroid main belt. There are also reasons to believe that this is the case for minor objects beyond the main belt. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Fiber-Optic Interconnections in High-Performance Real-Time Computer Systems

    Författare :Magnus Jonsson; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fiber-optic communication; Real-time communication; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Future parallel computer systems for embedded real-time applications,where each node in itself can be a parallel computer, are predicted to havevery high bandwidth demands on the interconnection network. Otherimportant properties are time-deterministic latency and guarantees to meetdeadlines. LÄS MER

  4. 4. High performance fiber-optic interconnection networks for real-time computing systems

    Författare :Magnus Jonsson; Bertil Svensson; Timothy M. Pinkston; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fiber-optic communication; real-time communication; Computer engineering; Datorteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Parallel and distributed computing systems become more and more powerful and hence place increasingly higher demands on the networks that interconnect their processors or processing nodes. Many of the applications running on such systems, especially embedded systems applications, have real-time requirements and, with increasing application demands, high-performance networks are the hearts of these systems. Sammanfattning : When designing architectures and protocols for data traffic requiring real-time services, one of the major design goals is to guarantee that traffic deadlines can be met. However, many real-time applications also have additional requirements such as high throughput, high reliability, or energy efficiency. LÄS MER
