16. Stability and transition on wind turbine blades
Sammanfattning : Transition on wind turbine blades is a highly complex phenomenon due to the myriad effects influencing the process. This thesis studies some of them, namely free-stream turbulence (FST), rotation, and three-dimensionality. The investigations employ large eddy simulations (LES) with and without (implicit or wall-resolved LES) a subgrid-scale model. LÄS MER
17. Computational modelling of blood flow in medical assist devices
Sammanfattning : Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a life-saving support treat-ment in case of pulmonary and/or cardiac failure. An artificial extracorporealcircuit is used to offload the function of lungs and/or heart. LÄS MER
18. Transitional flow in ordered porous media
Sammanfattning : Porous media, here defined as any permeable structure allowing a fluid to flow through, are relevant to a multitude of engineering applications and natural processes. The observed macroscopic properties of the porous media such as mixing, heat transfer and apparent permeability are properties which are affected by the flow and especially the type of flow, or flow region. 19. Advances in vortical flow prediction methods for design of delta-winged aircraft
Sammanfattning : This thesis covers the field of vortex-flow dominated external aerodynamics. As part of the contribution to the AVT-113 task group it was possible to prove the feasibility of high Reynolds number CFD computations to resolve and thus better understand the peculiar dual vortex system encountered on the VFE-2 blunt leading edge delta wing at low to moderate incidences. 20. CFD Modelling of Hydrogen Rich Biomass Syngas Combustion
Sammanfattning : The loss of biodiversity, due to pollution and global warming, is more important and relevant now than it has ever been. Man made climate warming has its roots in the huge amount of CH4 and CO2 emissions, which have increased by 47% and 156% respectively since 1750. LÄS MER
