  1. 1. Development and application of photofragmentation laser-induced fluorescence for visualization of hydrogen peroxides

    Författare :Olof Johansson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flame diagnostics; Fluorescence lifetime imaging; Hydrogen peroxide; Laser diagnostics; Laser-induced fluorescence; Photofragmentation;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is mainly motivated by the need for an optical diagnostic technique which can be used to visualize hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in its gas phase. Due to the lack of bound electronic states, H2O2 cannot be detected using laser-induced fluorescence based on electronic excitation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Development and Application of Laser-Induced Emission Techniques for Combustion Diagnostics -High-Resolution Visualization of Turbulent Reacting Flows

    Författare :Bo Li; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PLIF; LIF; Laser-Induced Fluorescence; Rayleigh scattering; Laser Diagnostics; flame font; Combustion; Turbulence; Photofragmentation LIF; PF-LIF; Laser-induced Phosphorescence; LIP; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Li;

    Sammanfattning : Nowadays, more than 90% of our energy comes from combustion processes. Hence, it is very important to perform combustion research to reduce emissions, improve efficiency, find clean and renewable fuels, strengthen safety, etc. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Short-Pulse Photofragmentation and Fluorescence-based Diagnostics - Development and Applications

    Författare :Malin Jonsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydroxyl radical OH ; Short-pulse excitation; Photofragmentation; Combustion diagnostics; Laser-induced fluorescence; Hydrogen peroxides; Collisional quenching; Fysicumarkivet A:2015:Jonsson;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in the thesis covers the use of laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) and photofragmentation laser-induced fluorescence (PFLIF) with short laser pulses to determine species concentrations in different combustion environments. To attain quantitative species concentrations using LIF investigations of the influence of collisional quenching on the fluorescence signal strength is of vital importance, which can be done by measuring the fluorescence lifetime. 5. 5. Development and Application of Optical Diagnostics of Alkali Vapours for Solid Fuel Combustion

    Författare :Tomas Leffler; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; UV Absorption Spectroscopy; Alkali Vapour Pressure; KCl; KOH; NaCl; NaOH; high-temperature corrosion; Laser-induced Photofragmentation Fluorescence; slagging; fouling; reduced maintenance cost; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Leffler;

    Sammanfattning : Background: High amounts of alkali in the fuel, such as potassium and sodium in combination with high amounts of chlorine increase the chances of high-temperature corrosion, deposit growth and slagging and fouling. These risks need to be reduced to avoid losses in revenue due to unplanned stops and costs related to increased maintenance. LÄS MER
