1. The Heterogeneity of Behavior in Operations Processes : Empirical Evidence
Sammanfattning : Behavioral science research has established that observed human behavior may deviate considerably from model suggestions. In addition to the realization that there is no such thing as standardized human behavior, there are also substantial differences in how people deviate from the model: Different individuals make dissimilar decisions in the same situation when using the same information. 2. Nanoscopic adventures : unraveling macromolecular complexes in infectious diseases via integrative structural biology
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms of infectious diseases, which claim nearly 9 million lives annually. The research centers on critical analysis of pathogen mechanisms and drug resistance. I have mainly focused on two clades of pathogens: Enterococcus faecalis and microsporidia. E. LÄS MER
3. Studies of PWO Crystals and Simulations of the p̅p →Λ̅Λ, Λ̅Σ0 Reactions for the PANDA Experiment
Sammanfattning : The thesis comprises investigations of two topics related to the PANDA experiment. The first part is dedicated to energy resolution and light yield uniformity studies of PWO crystals for the electromagnetic calorimeter. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to simulation studies of the p̅p→Λ̅Λ and the p̅p→Λ̅Σ0 channels. LÄS MER
4. Identification of pathophysiological and prognostic biomarkers in different types of myocardial infarction
Sammanfattning : The pathophysiological mechanisms of myocardial infarction (MI) with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) are largely unknown. Analogous, differences in pathobiology between ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) are incompletely understood. LÄS MER
5. Exercise induced breathing problems in adolescents
Sammanfattning : Experiencing respiratory symptoms in conjunction with exercise is common in children and adolescents and can have a negative impact on daily life. The aim of the thesis was to estimate the prevalence of exercise-induced dyspnoea, exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (EIB) and exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction (E-ILO) in a general adolescent population, and to explore factors associated with EIB.
