11. Structure and Phase Stability of CaC2 Polymorphs, Li2C2 and Lithium Intercalated Graphite : A Revisit with High Pressure Experiments and Metal Hydride–Graphite Reactions
Sammanfattning : Alkali (A) and alkaline earth (AE) metals can form carbides and intercalated graphites with carbon. The carbides mostly represent acetylides which are salt-like compounds composed of C22− dumbbell anions and metal cations. Both the acetylide carbides and intercalated graphites are technologically important. LÄS MER
12. Improved high velocity cold copaction processing : polymer powder to high performance parts
Sammanfattning : A uniaxial High-Velocity Compaction (HVC) process for polymer powder using a cylindrical, hardened steel die and a new technique with relaxation assist was tested with a focus on the compactibility characteristics and surface morphology of the compacted materials using various heights of relaxation assist device with different compacting profiles. Relaxation assist device was presented as a new technique to reduce springback, pull-out phenomenon and to improve the compaction process. LÄS MER
13. Microfluidics at High Pressures : Understanding, Sensing, and Control
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores understanding, sensing, and control in high-pressure microfluidics. The high-pressure regime allows fluids to be forced through narrow channels at substantial speed and creates conditions for fluids of high density and low viscosity—features desired in flow-based chemical analyses. 14. High Pressure Jet Assistance in Steel Turning
Sammanfattning : Steel turning is one of the most common industrial processes today. It is a very old process, where a lot of improvements and optimisations have been done throughout history. But, the struggle for further cost reductions pushes the process development into new areas. LÄS MER
15. Dynamic Modelling of Emulsification in High-Pressure Homogenizers
Sammanfattning : Different approaches and sub-models for the modelling of emulsification in a high-pressure homogenizer are reviewed and compared in terms of both practical aspects and how well they describe what is currently known on the emulsification process in general and on high-pressure homogenization in particular. Special effort is devoted to comparing the model developments presented in the appended papers to their alternatives and previous suggestions. LÄS MER
